This whole post will be dedicated to my newest addition to the build. As mentioned before I want to try as many new things as possible so that meant selling off my s475:

For something a little more foreign to our community.

:hellyeah:

If you could read the tag you'll notice that it says "HX52" Of course this makes you think, "Aren't their people running the HX52 or at least preparing to do so? And at the same time, why would you down grade from the 100lb/min+ S400 75mm for a much smaller/ 85-90lb/min HX52?

Well check this billet goodness:

OMG

Yessir, that is the big 'n'sexy billet wheel of the illusive HX 52 PRO Totally unknown territory but in theory it should be able to perform on par, if not beyond that of my previous S400. Only time will tell.

The following is basically some pics I took after I polished the Comp housing a little (much more to go) and took it apart to inspect. My mic is no where to be found so maybe I can get around to that later.

Enjoy-

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is NOT a HX52 pro. The HX52 pro has a bigger wheel than the regular HX52 that also comes with a billet wheel option. Now don't get me wrong I know just as good as any dsm guy how big and badass that thing is in person and for a car looking to still drive on the street and go dumb fast that turbo fits the bill but that is just a regular HX52 with billet wheel. about 85lb/min is doable def with the right supporting mods. Only other thing I would point out is make sure you take out that ring so those antisurge ports can do their job :) good luck with her. I hope you do what I was planning on doing with one.

Here's the Pro:
My Holset Turbo dot com, Holset Turbocharger Upgrades. Pro 52 (HX52) Turbo Application Notes.

I believe it was Mic'd out previously and the numbers matched. The wheel on this one is bigger than Darren's HX52. The pictures you posted are smaller than the turbo I have so we shall see. I'm excited for the deal either way. Thanks for the heads up, I was going to check to be sure anyways but it was something I couldn't pass up on for the price so its a win-win situation for me.

Its a cool turbo. And if it checks out I'll have no qualms running it. I'm confused by the pictures you posted as they don't reassemble the ones I posted but who knows until I get it all checked out again. They are all dwarfed by the S475 so either way its all about the combo. Hell, the regular HX52s have been putting up 4294 numbers. Those however aren't high enough for what I want so if it doesn't check out as a pro then its back tot he S475.

:rocks:

The part number is the giveaway its a regular hx52 and your right it puts up gt4294 numbers just with slightly better spool. I switched because i wanted to utilize a true 5" intake and go with the goal setup but other than that this turbo is pretty much a poor mans gt4294r.

The other 52 Pros also say HX52 on em. Either way as I said before it was worth for the price. I can't knock it being a poor mans 4294r, just like the other Holsets, it almost makes it pointless to run anything else if it does what it needs to do. :hellyeah: If it turns out to be a regular billet HX52 its just too small for my goals but If I put this up for sale I still would wanna find a 52 Pro just because I like the mystique of turbo.

Only reason I didn't switch before is because the S475s are cheap as is. Lol, always gotta have options broseph. Hmm, I wonder if it'd fit in the Galant. ROFL

Yeah they are def hard to beat for the price. If I didn't get the deal I did on my GT42 setup I would have just sucked it up and dealt with the 4" intake and quazi 3" outlet. By part number I don't mean HX52 it's that other long number on there ASSY #. A HX52 pro ASSY # is 4027895 yours is 3599996 mine was 3599965( http://i38.tinypic.com/2nhf1mv.jpg ). Only difference is mine had a Vband outlet.

I see, I wouldn't mind a V band either seeing as my LICP is V band as well and would have fit.

I'm kind of on the fence at the moment. This turbo pretty much would save me about $600 from purchasing another S400 and then a proper hotside. I am almost willing to at least use this as a test mule for the build and a means to get use to the car and button down the tunning at E98 and then simply switch over to the S475 or even a Pro and go from there.

Its low on the list of things to do. Still gotta source my head internals and I'll be game. Galant will hopefully eb runnign this weekend so that is one less headache. Hell if I sold that I could finish the Talon asap.:hmm:

Nah... :nono: LOL.

Can't wait to see you get things started too. I wanna see how those injectors work out most importantly.
