So today I solder as much wires as I can in the interior. Almost done :)

Here are a few pictures on the engine bay. Couldn't really take good ones because of creepy spiders LOL

Yeah I know there are a few wire crimps there, I'll solder them after I get the interior done.

Major clean up in the near future! :p

Have fun!

Since you can't be 100% sure about how well the car was taken care of make sure you spend money on maintenance first and foremost before you start buying performance parts:

-change all the fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake, clutch, power steering, transmission, transfer case and rear dif. if applicable)
-inspect the brake pads & tires really well
-remove wheels and yank on suspension, look for slop/play in it and repair if needed
-change air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter (use OEM, not FRAM from Wal-Mart)
-change spark plugs (NGK BPR6ES) and wires
-do timing belt stuff (belt, tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, water pump, oil pump, balance shaft elimination etc)
-change power steering and alternator belts
-remove the heat shield and check the exhaust manifold/turbo/downpipe/cat bolts as well as the oil and coolant lines to the turbo
-do a boost leak test and repair if needed

I may be wrong but is his Throttle body on backwards.... OR IS MINE LOL????!!!! cause if i can remember right the vacume holes that go to the intake mani are opposite of the direction of the vacume tubes? I am very tired so if im crazy just say soo.

I don't even know LOL, I haven't gone over my engine bay yet, just been fixing up the interior. I'll take a look in that.

Yeah, maintenance is my main focus right now. I'll make sure most of my maintenance is done.

I have to agree on that poor car, no vehicle asks to be treated badly, only bad owners. There would be ALOT more 1g dsms around if people would have cared about them in the 90's and the good cars that are left need alot of work to get back to where they once were just because owners didn't take of them, sold them and the next people.person did the same thing.

^^ Agree. That's why I picked it up as a project. It just needed some finishing touches and a partial restoration. I just couldn't let it be sold off to some 17 year old as a first car, so I jump on it and never look back.

Its a 2g TB WTF

cant be backwords or the tps would be were the throttle cable is and vise versa

Can't wait to see the final product. And leave the spiders. They'll take care of the bugs. Both ways going.
