ya..im ###### gonna buy the car. i cant get it till tuesday because its at the shop. he said it was cool if i went down to the shop and checked it out, so i did. talked to the mechanics and they said it couldn't pass smog at the moment but theyre fixing it right now. they said the ecu was bad thats why the check engine kept turning on. but the car passed the emissions with flying colors. and they said the clutch is fine. the guy i'm buying it from said that when he's at about 3k rpm and he give half throttle it pulls nice. when he's at 2500 rpm and floors it, it takes a few seconds to catch up. what do you guys think?

and thanks for advice guys. im sure i can get it going pretty good!

Hey guys I am a proud owner a a 2005 toyota corolla xrs and am in the market for a project car that will help me learn the ins and outs of a boosted engine. I am thinking about probably a ts1. Figured this looked like the best place to find out about a talon. My price range for buying a project car ###### goes up to 5k but hoping not to spend that much. I guess you could say im on a limited budget. Well anyway thanks in advance for answering any questions.

first off get rid of the chicken wire in the front, and pick up a new hood, and ask him what happened to half the buttons and the dash. Over all not bad.

I actually took a gander at that one. I dont think its THAT bad of a deal. You'll hafta fix most of his mistakes...guess thats buying a car though. Let me know if you get it, maybe we can cruise around town one of these days. I'm moving from Colorado springs to Littleton here within March.

looks as if its in good shape, and a good price too, just listen to it run and listen for any noises, also look where the car is parked and notice if theres any fluid spots underneath it, other than that, happy dsming, you might want to see if it has the seven bolt or not too.

So i've been tryin to find a local 1g awd for almost two years now and last week I found a 1990 black talon awd 5spd it does haves a lot of problems most typical to every 1g dsm. The guy wanted $1000 for it i got him down to $900 and bought it. So heres the info tell me if you think i got for a fair price! Paint is faded one and has one rust spot on the driver's quarter. THe car also needs a headliner(what 1g doesn't), needs a cv in the driver's front and rotors and pads all around.Car runs awesome former owner had all maintence done at mitsubishi dealer, car has a new 14b turbo.

I'm just curious on how much my car would be worth if I were to sell it right now. I know it's pretty junky and would not expect more than 1500. But maybe I'm wrong and other people would view the model as valuable to them? Who knows. Anyways it's a 90 eclipse GS 2.0 N/T...paint job is very crappy. Last guy who had it didn't even take the old paint off just threw black on top of it. Interior: seats are good and everything but the upholstery of course is crap and coming down and its missing the panels along the door (not very noticeable but still crappy as ever) anyways I replaced the transmission from a 91 talon TSI, just replaced slave cylinder on it, tsudo headers, ebay intake hard pipe with KN filter, APEXi exhaust tip from ebay, coilovers (from ebay that have met my standards for over a year), KYB GR-2 shocks and struts, all new belts not too long ago, all new brakes and rotors, all new radial tires, and that's about it besides cd player and that useless crap. I know it's nothing special, I'm just curious to see what I could sell it for or if I'd get better prices at a salvage yard haha. Here's a picture, I'll post more later if you really want me to.

140,000 miles on the car

i am looking to buy a talon awd tsi and came across this car and am really interested but i do not want a car that has too many problems because my money is limited. i have asked the owner many questions and he has been very honest but do you think i should still buy the car with the following problem? and also dont you think 4 thousand with this problem and without is high?

-and if purchased how much would be needed to get fixed?

The car didn't pass the emmisions test. It needs work on the ICU. The price has been dropped to 3995 from 4500 because of this.

This could be anything depending on how emmisions is done in your state. Is the check engine light on and if yes, what code does the ECU throw?

If you don't have much money to spend on repairs then I would STRONGLY suggest you to NOT get a DSM. I have spent well over 4 grand on repairs alone in the past two years on my car.

Deletrius is right and wrong, it all depends on the car. He probably bought one with high miles and many problems cause the previous owner didnt take care of it regularly. I bought mine almost 3 years ago with 18k miles on it and I have never had a single problem. I just do regular maintance, and change gaskets here and there. And I check everything out like every other day for leaks (number 1 problem with DSM's oil leaks). Also i have beat the shit out of mine every day and I take care of it the right way.
