Ha well im pretty sure ill have the 1g friday so anyone with any parts PM ill be looking to buy stuff.

Do it and dont think twice. 1g's are so much more fun to drive. The 1g really seems to put the power out there even in stock form versus a 2g.

That's probably due to the 1g being 1/974th of the weight. (<smart ass comment). If you get the 1g, don't put altezze's on it if they even make them :barf: LOL

2g's look good no doubt but 1g's with a nice front mount look good they are fun to drive and awd is way more fun that fwd. I promise you that. Just keep it clean and it'll look good.

that's a subtle way of saying don't do the altezza thing the second time around. :thumb:

Actually I think fwd is funner, awd is more practical for racing but all the awd dsms ive
driven dont feel as hyper as fwd because of weight and drive train loses and they stay straight while fwd your looking crazy spining and torque steering and sliding LOL.
Dont get me wrong Id rather awd though, fwds only good for stockers. Only thing I can say I like about being
fwd is the fact ( slightly gutted ) that my car only weighs approx. 2550lbs. Not competeing with the honda realm but thats still pretty decent.
Down side of 1g versus 2gs ( looks not being counted since its opinion )
is the suspension set up on the 1g isnt as agile as the 2gs.

Do the tail lights really look that bad with the center painted white? I didnt think they were that bad. But dont worry id never put anything like that on a grey car. I thought they just looked nice on a white one. But i am excited to get the GSX, hopefully ill have it all back together running by the end of this weekend. Ill keep everyone posted and ill get some pics.

Is that a bad thing, besides prices of them going way up and what caused Supra's value to skyrocket?

Well if you are in the market for a DSM, then it sucks. If you have one then it might be good. It's a matter of opinion. A certain movie caused Supra's value to skyrocket.

I'm not buying or selling anything, just asking an opinion. Now I found what it looks like to be a decent 1999 silver GSX for sale not too far from me. The guy selling it is the second owner and is selling it for an asking price of $16,000 because he needs the mony for a down payment on a house. he got it a year after it came out from a guy who a $80,000 year paycut. The original owner had several cars and needed to sell one of them, he had a supra, mr2, and rx-7 I think. he used it for back and furth driving to work. One recall was done that was needed to be on the control arm 2 years ago. The car now has 47,200 miles on it. He sayed the condition of the car is showroom condition and everything functions correctly and oil was changed every 3,000 miles but the timing belt never replaced. Plugs and wires replaced 2 years ago, new tires and brakes about 800 miles ago. And there is a minor scratch on the drivers seat of the all black interior from a comb that was in the original owners pocket. he said that he was a detailer and that he had put 10-12 coats of paint sealant on the car. Now anyone can say anything but I'm gonna go check it out in person. From what he said does this sound like a good deal?

I just got some pictures of the interior, exterior, and the engine of this car. Below is a link to the pictures iff you have some spare time and can help me out. By the looks of it would you say it is worth what he is asking? Thanks, John

whats up dsmers, I currently have a 1991 turbo crx. There is someone here locally that is wanting to trade their 1990 tsi for a honda. Their mod list reads as follows...
.... 16g turbo, fmic w/ hard pipes, rc 550 injectors, 2g maf, centerforce clutch, welded diff in trans, ported turbo and manifold by SLOWBOOST, apexi afc, 2 g wheels painted black and 2 g manifold

car runs strong and pulls hard. @ 16 psi right now. has a dent on the hood and thats all body wise. has nice paint base clear.

my questions are 1. about how fast should it be in the 1/4? and 2. about how much would it be worth?

the ad is at http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zeromodify?cmd=editpost&id=25804625

thanks.

with those mods it should be a solid 13.5 or better...but how reliable is your honda? I have a civic ex beater with 185k on it and it never had an oil leak....dsms are a whole different ballgame.

cheers.

You say you are thinking of trading. What do you have done to your honda. If its a cheap basic kit on a SOHC I would think about it. Make sure you have it compression checked and check the turbo for in and out shaft play.

i need the professional opinions of everyone on whether or not this should be my next dsm. im currently driving an rs and in desperate want of boost, so this sounded like the best plan to me. heres the details about it

95 mitsubshi eclipse gsx. The body is stock
except for the 97+ style front bumper (unpainted) and black-housing
projector headlamps. The body is in good condition for 11 year old
car.Never been in an accident. Seller took off the stock side skirts for
blitz side skirts but never had the time to complete it. Both style side
skirts will be included. The interior is nice grey leather mostly stock
with boost gauge and A/F gaue mounted on the cluster bezel. Plus a
Fidanza short shifter.
The engine is stock. Seller replaced the timing belt,O2 sensors, spark plugs,
etc 10K miles ago. The only mods are RRE lightened flywheel. ACT 2100
clutch, MBC, K&N filter, and test pipe.
Seller will also include a set of stock 16" swirl wheels, and Buschur 2.5"
cat-back. $2900 shipped to my door.

She is willing to ship it to me for an inspection, and if I dont like it, I can send it back free of charge. What do you guys think? should i do it?

Where is the car at and how far is it from you? Sounds a lil fishy but id check into it make sure it was not stolen wrecked etc, and yes 20$ is worth a vin check. if she is gonna ship it to you i would not pay a peny till its at your door. check all the vins doors fenders, hood, bumpers, frame, etc but i would get it once i checked out all that i just mentioned.

the way shes making it out, im supposed to make the $2900 deposit to ebay (im very weary of that) and then she will ship it. if i like it, i give the word to ebay and they will transfer the money to her. she said the car is in athens tx right now, but she is in az. i really hope it comes through and ill keep you guys updated. thanks for the advice
