i don't have a dsm at the moment, but am looking for one right now. I saw a 1991 laser rs 5spd in well lets just say ok condition. It has some paint chips and scratches but absolutly no rust on it. it was a turbo but the engine blew in it and it now has a mitsubishi 16 valve 2.0 engine in it. The guy wants 1500 for it. Is this car even worth bothering with at all. Or should i give him an offer?? right now i have a 1995 probe base model and i might trade him and see how much money i can get back. the thing about the probe is that the tranny is gettin ready to go in about a 1000 miles or so. so i wanna get rid of it as soon as possible.
i just wanna know what you guys think i should do since i do'nt know anything about dsms.????

it was a turbo but its not anymore.. I believe the engine in it now has somewhere around 120,000. The mile meter on the car says like 203,000. and the engine was put in about 2 or 3 months ago...

Does it have a turbo engine in it now? If not, I wouldn't bother as you can find a 1g turbo DSM for that price or slightly higher if you looked around...

i don't really car if it is turbo or not. i just want a nice dsm that i can drive around and show off a little bit. And smoke some of them civics with. im not looking to build a 12 second car. just something that has some nice street speed and look nice and clean. I have a friend that works for a body shop and he paints cars on the side. So i could get this car painted with some super nice paint for about 600 bucks.The car is black and i want to keep it that way so that would make the paint job even cheaper and easier.

oh and by the way i am leaving in about 4 months for the army basic training and i just want a dsm that i can drive for now and then build up when i get back.....i love them and have always wanted one and i only have about 1800 to spend
so its in my budget and my daily driver cars tranny is on its way out!!

I would be very hesitant to turbocharge a car with 120k miles. I say no to buying, don't get a N/T you'll regret it, believe me I know

Because non-turbos are complete dogs, you wont be beating any civics that have decent mods with a non-turbo... theyre just slow. Ive seen plenty of turbos for sale for $2000 in the past, if you could find one like those then Im sure you could get them to 1800 or so. Why not just wait till after basic and tech school (does the army have tech school after basic too?) to get it cause by then you should have a good amount of cash to spend.

yes after basic i am going to training for the military police. during basic and during the training i am getting active duty pay so i should have quite a nice chunk of change in my bank to spend. so after looking at everyones opinions i am probably not gonna get it ..

Hey I got a question for everyone I'm interested in this gs-t and wanted to know if it's worth the price it has 98,000 miles and has recently had the clutch brakes rotors cv's changed out the timing belt was changed at 78,000 miles (How many miles til this should be changed)

It looks great and has no cracks in the seats. 6 disk cd changer and am/fm cassete it blue booked at $5740 Again it looks pretty good and pulls really well the guy wants $5500 for it should I jump on this?


PS please don't ask what happened to my 13 sec rs my dad and friend tried to install something for my birthday thats all I'm going to say cause I'll probably start crying.............

What year is this GST? I'll assume (by the asking price) that it's a '95. Sounds like a decent deal. Take it to a trusted mechanic and have it THOROUGHLY checked out though.

PS--How does your dad and his drunk friend installing something destroy a car? (That's what I'm assuming why you're needing a new car).
