It really depends where you are at. I usually find mine in South Carolina, but this one I got in Kansas. There's lots of them in Indianapolis, and seems to be quite a few in South Carolina too. In Bloomington IL there's a junkyard off Veterans Parkway with probably 30 DSM carcasses. They are all over the place there since they were made there.

Here are some pictures. I need someone to look at the ECU pic and tell me if it has an eprom, I'm pretty sure it doesn't (which sucks bc the guy said he thought it did) but then again, I've never opened a DSM ecu before. I meant to take more but the batteries in my camera died and I haven't had the motivation to go to the store yet.

Thanks for all the help. What would be the things you would suggest that I look at while actually test driving the car? And who would you suggest that I bring with me to look at the car?

Check compression, rust. See if the suspension is really squeeky. Make sure there isn't a crazy knock or anything with the clutch in coming from the timing belt side of the engine. Everything else is pretty easy to fix if there is a problem.

so im thinking about buyin a 1996 GSX, but the guy said that the only thing wrong with it is the front axel is bad. the car is cheap ($2000) so i was wondering if i should buy it or not.

If thats all thats wrong with the car I'd definitely say go for it. Sounds like a great deal.

awesome, now here is a new question: Both my front wheels won't come off. I got it up on stands and the back wheels came right off but my front ones won't. It almost is like the rotor wants to come off with them as one unit. Any suggestions? I've been lubing it up and beating it with a rubber mallet and nothing is helping.

Edit: never mind I got them off, just hammered the lugs through LOL

Nice pickup. That is a pretty clean shell and a deal for $400. Good luck with your build.

ok, now since this car was an automatic, do I need to do anything to the ecu when I put in a 5 spd? And thanks for all the help so far guys.

More like, definate. 63k original miles, and i get a factory warranty. Found it at a dealership around here. 5 speed, and its a 1999 GS-T. Clean as hell... The only problem [im so fing picky...] is that it has cloth seats ><

I know, I can change seats out. Finding stock tan leather seats is a pain. I tried craigs list and ebay. Ehhh. Any idea's? Or should I just go and find some bucket racing seats. Hmm. Thanks for the help fella's.

Hate the seats, love 63,000 original miles.

Nice find!! I wish I could have found one that was that clean. I would say if you really wanted to, you could take the seats and the door panels that have the cloth down and have them all reupholstered in the tan color that you want if you can not find the seats you want in the car.

You better snatch that car, it has one of the best most updated 4g63 motors that mitsu made aside from the newer evos.

98-99 7bolts are the shit.

and OMG on the bucket racing seats... LOLoLOL... that car isn't going to be like some asphalt shredder, you're going to need some upgrades to even be competitive with some of the newer stuff out there. You're not a previous honda owner are you? jkjkjkjk.

hahahaha.. no no no. I would mainly look for evo recaro's for sale if I can't find any tan leather seats. Jeez. I have a handful of mods left from my old DSM that can fit in fine. :] Im already talking to the dealership. Waiting for some paperwork. Its pretty much as good as mine<3

IllIclipse, how much would you let them go for? :p
