So what's next for you, Infamous Eclipse?

You surely won't spend 8k in mods on your other car, will you?

he told me that his next car is going to be a 'spyder' ;)

not an Eclipse Spyder, but this spyder.

J/P. OMG

I wish I got this car :(

I think at this point he's looking back and realizing what a mistake it was to waste so much money turboing a nonturbo car. Be it 1g or 2g, factory turbo is a much better starting point if you're going for any kind of power. It's also cheaper in the long run.

In a couple years he'll look back and see that this is the wiser decision. Hell, in the couple *weeks* after dumping the money from the sale of the RS-T into mods for the TSi he'll realize which car is better for modding.

I agree, thats why I'll never turbo my car. However, even though this is the smarter decision he will still regret it later on and wish he used the money wiser. Its fun while its happening and great when you got it all done, however, you will still wish you wouldn't have put ALL that money into one car, just like he's wishing he didn't now.

Davidle stop jackin my thread I don't talk to you... LOL

Me and mark had a talk and yeah I realized a lot... I wanted to do something original and hey, I completed a goal, I did what I claimed I'd do... I made a turbo RS... I think its time to move on... before I get too re-attached to the POS

Ya i gotta give it to you on that one, you did actually put a turbo on your car when you said you were going to. Good luck with the 1g!

Everyone knows you can go to Kelley blue book and pick up a rough estimate of a cars value. Yet KBB doesnt consider rarity by any stretch of the imagination. so there numbers are quite off. While NADA does consider rarity. Yet isnt always used. Point being, whats my car worth about on the market. Im selling this thing asap.

98 Eclipse GSX

Pioneer 7400mp cd player
Stock Infiniti 6X9s in rear
Pioneer 6.5s in front

Unsure Tick when hit big pot holes.. Struts?

Body :
Very good condition with very good solid paint job
Minor 2 inch long dent in front fender next to headlight with small scuffs on bumper. (not very noticeable... but its there. )

To be honest with you, you would be lucky to get high blue book out of it. For starters, very few people want an auto. Also, as soon as someone sees the scratch, they will deduct from the blue book amt. The only people that pay top dollar for cars and rich ass parents buying a car for their little spoiled brat kid, AND people who understand what the car is and why it is worth the $ you are asking.

Bottom line, good luck getting blue book. I sold my MINT Black 98 GSX 5-speed 4 years ago with only 37K on it for $16,500. IF I could find another one in the same cond. I would buy it for $12,500 IF I did not have too many miles on it, and was taken care of VERY well by a little old lady or little old man. Good luck with your sale but don't count on getting what you think it is worth, it just doesn't happen most of the time.....

I looked it up for you and you should expect to get somewhere around $10K for it. Good luck. :thumb:

i bought my 98 white gsx fully loaded 5-speed with 36k on it for 14,200 not even 2 years ago.....but id say 10k would be appropriate because of the auto and the high miles

I have a 91 AWD TSi and it needs some work. Right now I'm trying to decide what I should do with it. I bought it for cheap because it wasn't running right, and I wanted to use it for rally cross, but come to find out, the person before me, after having the head rebuilt, had the timing way off and I ended up with a bent valve. And just yesterday I was working on it, and found a ton of play in the turbo. The other problems that I know of so far are that it has torn boots on most of the half shafts, possibly a seized caliper(it may be repairable, I haven't taken a closer look, and it appears to have happened over the months I was storing it), and a stud is missing on one of the hubs, and some little stuff that doesn't worry me. Does anyone know of where/how much these parts would run, or what is your opinion on fixing it. The body is in really good shape for being 13 years old, and having been driven in the northeast. There is only a tiny speck of rust on the hood, and two little dents, so it is definately still possible to make the car itself look good(not my priority, but a selling point), and it could be made runnable if you are willing to put some money into it, but seeing as I'm in college, and can't find a job because of classes, it's not really that easy of an option. So what do you guys think, should I make a push to fix it(I do have $800 coming to me from my school account though), or just get rid of it, as I've had it for nearly a year and I haven't been able to get much work done to it. Any suggestions would be nice.

Umm, the best answer is: DSM's are a hole into which we throw lots of money... If you do not have lots of money right now it's best to store it, or get out of it and look for another later when you can afford it.

As for the repairs, a brake caliper you can find at most scrap yards. The missing stud can be bought cheap from NAPA/Pep Boys, etc... The Bent valve(s) and worn turbo are much more costly... You'll have to spend a couple hundred there best case scenario...

I have no experience with turbo dsm's, especially 1g's, so in your opinions, is this car worth it; 1993 Talon Tsi FWD, ACT 2100 Clutch, Turbo XS BOV, turbo back exaust, short shifter, air/fuel and boost gauge, and a manual boost controller. Maitenance it has new OEM turbo, hot tanked head, blue printed crank, replaced gaskets, rebuilt tranny. Something in the engine ticks, most likely the lifters. Has 150 k miles on it. Asking 3800. So, should I go for it?

too much for 1g with 150K IMO

Just got 2g 95' TSI...79K, new turbo, rebuild engine, rebuild tranny, full CAT back 3" flow master exhaust, 1g BOV, manual boot controller, upgraded wires&plugs, ....$4300

halik

Its worth it if the engine was rebuilt semi recently and you want those mods. Otherwise they run around 2-3k normally...

I don't think that it's worth it, if the engine ticks, then that probably means that it was abused. The owner probably over revved it and red lined it a lot. My guess is that is why they are getting rid of it. I don't know alot, but I do know that an engine that is ticking or knocking is very bad, and the engine is about to take a s**t. So unless you are intending on rebuilding the engine, I would stay far away from that deal. Plus you can get a way better deal than that, just be patient and look hard. I got my 94 eclipse for $700, with only 79,000 miles. So don't let someone rob you.

I recently looked at a white 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD 5-speed, with grey interior, in better that average condition.

It has a fully built motor with forged rods and pistons, removed balance shafts, 550cc injectors, 16g turbo, it runs 15 psi normally, and it has an electronic boost controller, a bunch of other stuff that I don't know, and he gave me all the specs a long time ago, but I lost the list.

It is very nice condition, no dents or dings, except for on the right rear where it was fixed, but there is still a small dent there.

A/C works great and blows very cold.

Original trans, never rebuilt, and shifts great, with new clutch.

The paint is very shiny, and all original, except for the front right fender, which was replaced because a lady backed into the car about 3 years ago.

It has 96,000 miles on the car, and less than 1000 on the motor

The motor has a 3,000 mile warranty, but I'm not sure if the warranty is valid if he sold it to me.

Overall a very nice car, and seems to be very fast. He did not get on it with me, nor did I, but seeing as the parts on the car, and what it is, it seems to be fast.

Does anyone know what this combo would run in the 1/4 MILE???

Does anyone know what this car would is worth?
It does have.. very clean paint, very clean interior, and new engine.

Thanks, chad
