Heh, if it's a 95, the bank will tell you it's worth about 5k. You could probably get more from a private sale, but it's doubtful, due to the fact that people will see mods on it and realize it's been "pushed" before.

LOL yea thats when I bought it. I got it cheap cause the HG was blown. My question is would the 6bolt swap add value?

Nope. Modifications depreciate the value of a car.

My bank would lend up to 8000 for the I got 95, but this was last year. Banks do not take in account aftermarket parts.

Selling that car...you'd get maybe 5 to 7K tops.

lets say i want to finance one for 72 months...do you guys think its worth it?

how much more do you think insurance will be on an EVO8 from an ECLIPSE GST?

wait tell the new evo comes
think its the evo mr or somethng like that.. but personnaly i dont like evos hate 4 doors... but i think it will be pricier then ur gst

i think that the insurance would be cheaper. It is a 4 door and i think that they are considered a sedan. At leadt when my gf called about an sti it was considered a sedan. Figure it would be the same for the evo. Calling would give you a definite answer.

I like DSM's, but I dont like Mitsubishi as a corporation.

Worth it? Maybe, it's a subjective thing, if I had $30K I wouldn't buy an EVO but that's just me. Insurance will be expensive, though it is a sedan, you will be required to have full coverage on it. Depending on your age and all that, full coverage could be really high. If you do buy one, don't second guess yourself, just enjoy the shit out of it.
Peace

then again, i bought my 96 tsi awd for $5600

He doesn't have 30k. He'd be making payments on it. Personally, after making payments on my old VW for 6 years (Actually I paid it off after 4 1/2.) I was overwhelmed with joy to pay cash for my Colt turbo. I also later payed cash for my GSX. Used cars are a great value but getting a loan on one sucks. Then you have repairs and a payment. Yuck. If you can afford to shell out the cash for a used EVO in a year or two that's the ticket. Now if you have spotless credit an d a good length of credit history you can get an OK rate on a used one with a personal line of credit..... Insurance varies widely on your credit rating, your home address, your driving record, and how your company rates a car both in residual and repair value and risk catagories.
Of course you search cars.com and find a nice silver EVO with 20k on the clock for 20k.....

the car is worth it, but i wouldnt want to make payments for that long. insurrance might not be too high. i heard because it is a 4 door sedan, and has awd that they help insurrance rates stay down.

Just be sure to factor in frequent oil changes with synthetic oil (required), frequent fillups with premium fuel, expensive rotors (I don't think they can be lathed), frequent clutch changes, and new tires every 10,000 miles or so.

Mitsu's ad even starts with something like, "Are you really sure you want this car? Because the high level of required maintenance isn't for everyone..."

It's really not meant to be a daily driver - though I'm sure people use them for everyday commuting.

Fantastic car to drive. Less so to own, unless it's a weekend car. IMHO :)

I didn't figure any car would come stock with rotors that can not be turned. Thats just ###.

And if you do a clutch upgread, you dont have to replace it NEAR as offen im betting.

The fronts are cross-drilled, yes? I think most shops frown upon turning drilled or slotted rotors. I could be wrong... maybe it's just slotted that they won't do?

Upgrade the clutch = no warantee when the tranny breaks instead of the clutch.

just got home from driving an evo8. its definately worth it imo. car was amazing in every aspect. they gave me a 266 per month payment and im considering it.
