So I have tried a link v3 cable, and I had a friend make make a custom datalog cable when that didn't work. He tested this cable in his car and it worked fine, but it will not work in my vr4(same as 1g). Would there be something wrong in the ECU I can check and make sure that it isn't damaged? I am working on getting a multimeter now to check the actual ALDL port. I've spent way too much time on this problem and I would just like to log and tune my car haha

:hellyeah:

Not sure what in the ecu you could check, i mean it would seem its working and in good condition or it isnt, maybe rule the ecu out if you havent any other problems with it.

Could be that one or all the wires from the ECU to the ALDL port are cut/broken. You could always go straight to the ECU for logging. Just find out the pins and do a custom ALDL port at the ECU

I recall saying something about checking the pin to the Diagnatic port from the pin at ECU...

Did you ever ?

Thats what I am asking about. I need to check from the diagnostic pin in the ALDL to the ecu. I still haven't gotten the multimeter yet, but is there a different way to check this?

I finally got to get a multimeter to it.

(+) to pin 1
(-)to pin 12 = pulse on mutimeter, I can upload a video if needed

(+) to pin 1
(-) to pin 10 = no pulse or voltage

Shouldn't it pulse when I use pin10 for the ground? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this to where that wire goes?

Thanks!
