:D
1991 talon tsi awd stock
2500$$
supposedly 70,000 miles on a 174,000 shell
dude seemed legit. but you know

so long story short im test driving the talon and it shakes not crzy but
a little around 60 mph

is that weird for talons

then going up a hill theirs is a ticking sound around the passengers engine side

it would go away when it boostedWTF but only on the hill not on the highway

please i need input

just that he said this in the description is a sign that it's not to be trusted! LOL

"I own three dsmz time to let one go."

any ticking or knocking noise regardless of when it occurs is usually from INTERNAL engine problems, 2500 for a 1g that knocks??? pass for sure

I say save that $2,500 dollars and put it towards a different DSM. Thats what I would do. You can come arcoss a better DSM for $2,500. Everybody has their DSM calling, you just have to wait for it.

dont get too down im searching for a new dsm since mine got totaled...its a waiting game but once you find the right one its all worth it

damn i could hear the turbo spool:(
and the boost felt so good

Haha, it's addictive isn't it?
I didnt say or necessarily mean to pass it up, I said if it were me. If you want it, go for it! We are only making suggestions. But IF you are going to try and get it, I'd say start LOWWW! And then work your way up. You would be amazed what cash in hand will do for you. You wouldn't believe what I paid for the GSX

See what I mean OP?

isnt that true for anything:)

thanks people

everbody says to pass on it
i could offer him 1000$

My opinion would be to pass and wait for somethin else to come along. Yeah you felt that turbo throw you back into the seat a little bit, but don't let those emotions push you into buying a money pit! You know you can get the same feeling with a better engine if you just look around a little bit more. Make the right choice! :hmm:

im talking to the dude and he says the turbo fried and the manifold had a crack

so i found another talon
this one looks even more sketchy
WTF
this one is nice too:)

what to do u guys think
im still looking

The ticking sound could be anything...if it idles fine and dosent tick there is a really low chance that it's an internal engine problem. If it ticks when it idles it could ne pistons hitting the valves, bad lifters, crankwalk( all tho it's almost impossible on a 1g)....etc. If it only ticks when you drive it could be many things as simple as a nail inside the tire, exhaust hiting the car, drive shaft support mounts and universal joints could be making ticking sound and vibration etc....other things lick cooling fan can be hitting something, you may have precombustion do to bad or wrong fuel or low compression. I would buy it for 2500 only if when the car starts up and dosent tick, also when you give it gas standing, and it dosent tick... Stock 1g is impossible to find this days.

well months later i found the same talon on craigslist with a spun bearing
I even told the guy after the test drive, that might be the problem
he just told me that he sold the car and could not sell it to me anymore

it was an honor to test drive a 16g awd talon:D
