Ok, this is really weird. My temp gauge "bouces" around every now and then. Every time I put it in 2nd, it drops low, then rises back up. Then sometimes, its just drops down and back up for a while. Never shows it over heating, it never goes past about halfway. Any ideas?

If you are talking about a sudden drop/rise in temperature thats impossible. I know this because on the civic I built before turning to DSM's I noticed my temp needle would "bounce" all the way past the "H" on the gauge. I finally figured out the problem, every time I would hit my brakes it would "spike". I dug around in the engine bay and found one of the main ground wires broken on the tranny. I replaced the ground and the problem was fixed. I hope this helps you, if not, disregard this nice little story :p

PS don't feel bad every time I turn my lights on in my 1g, the EGT'S drop about 300 degrees. I guess it's time to go diggin' again OMG :dsm: :thumb:

It's not the temperature that is rising and dropping, its just the gauge, it wont go over about half way up(normal when warm), it just drops and rises and its weird. I guess I can check the grounds whenever I can. How hard are they to find? I can find my manual right now. LOL

Thats what leads me to believe that it's electrical. I'm unsure of the location of the grounds on a 2g, I know one for sure on the 1g is off the back of the intake manifold. Maybe you could fab up some extra ones from copper wire (radioshack) and connectors. Also look at all your electrical components involved with your cooling system, look for bare wire/gashes in any of your wiring--anything that could cause a short in the system. Good luck. :dsm: :thumb:
