I have a td04hl and I need a better j-pipe because I'm going trying to redo my piping on my GST so i can keep the stock fog lights. What's wrong with your current j-pipe? The issue I could see with the eBay one you choose is the flange not being flat.

Why does everyone instantly go to e ay when looking for parts. There are plenty of vendors that carry different styles of j pipes.

The j-pipe on it now goes to where the stock intercooler was, I need to to go up and then come straight down. Plus as far as vendors I don't know where to look.

There are only 2 styles. One that turn toward the passenger side or ones that turn towards the driverside.

Goto the marketplace and click on "DSMTuners Supporting Vendors". VRSF will have one by the way.

Because we are DSMers and we are cheap. Honestly, I wouldnt pay out the ass for a pipe. Those are just one of those things that you can go to ebay for. Im using a j pipe from the punishment racing kit, which is basically ebay, and Im have no problems with it.

Punishment racing will at least make sure the quality of parts leaving with their name will be solid. a flang from eBay may be of very poor design (thickness, metal quality) or not even pe at the proper specs for bolt holes, straightness, or flattness for flanges.

Going cheap on quality usually means your car will be cheaply made and not last.

Take an eBay tubular exhaust manifold. That thing will crack before you know it because it's not the proper metal or thickness and the welds are terrible although looking alright. Pay $500 more and you will get a manifold made of schedule steel with excelent welds that won't break on you.

eBay BOVs and wastegates are bulky and/or not at proper specs to what thy are trying to copy. Materials are inferior whih shows in the price difference betweenthe knockoff and the genuine part.

eBay turbos are not balanced, crap metal, and in certain cases use multiple parts from different style turbos. The ebay 16g uses MHI and Garret internals so if you wanted to rebuild a blown one you would need 2 kits instead of 1.

I'm sure you get my point. Some things are alright but for most I would stay away from it.

AHEM!!!! haha I don't like to be cheap but when I need to I will be like right now I have close to nothing for money and I need to redo the piping on my car. The guy before me did a HORRIBLE job by using exhaust piping and it's rusting

Also is the turbo I have a 14b?

Take a picture of the compressor housing so we can read the numbers. The 14b came stock on the 1g, the t25 on the 2g and a 16g is a common turbo upgrade for both platforms. The 14b and 16g look similar and have the same pipe routing.

Without the eBay j pipe, make sure the pipe end is beaded.
