ok i'm new here and didnt know for sure if it was ok to post here so if i am in the wrong let me know...

well this is one of my many problims i am having but to keep it simple i'd like to tackle one thing at a time.
V this is problim #1 i have been told it is 1 of these 3... head gasket, oil cooler, or turbo is leaking ? like i said im new to the fourm and new to dsm's.

i dont quit understand what they mean by the turbo leaking. i looked under the vc and pulled my dip stick and the oil looks great no slug no nothing just good looking oil. and the car does not smoke. but does have "fuel cut" after 5000rpm but im pretty sure that was from a boost leak.

That looks nasty, First, drain all the coolant, put a water hose in there and clean all the best you can, after that, fill it up with pure water (just water) and drive it to see how it comes out, insert another pic of the cup again and we go from there.

It can be any of what you were told by others, But there is a possibility that you have a really dirty coolant and cleaning it and putting just water will tell you if there is a problem or was just the coolant being durty.

Mine was like that when I got it, was just dirty coolant, flush it out and put all new coolant in there.

so i havent posted back with progress... but as of now the car is over heating like crazy. and as far as i can tell it is not the head gasket but this is oil mixing into my coolant. i am flushing the coolant tomarow and also buying a new rad cap, hoses, fan temp switch, and over flow tank since the car did not have one when i perchaced it. the reason i think the oil is in the coolant is because the car blew the head gasket before i bought it and the prev owner had a shop replace the head gasket and never did a coolant flush. do have recites for the head gasket job. some one also told me to check my oil cooler to see if it was crushed from tightening it to tight....
will post pics and details tom after i get done if not the next day really busy with work and the car plus getting married in a month !!

so its alot worse than i thought... my intire coolant system is full of this gunk. dont know what to do or where to start,

It looks like the same gunk that was in my civic when the headgasket blew, though mine was more sludge-like, but same exact color. Have you done a compression test yourself to rule the headgasket out?

That looks like oil mixing with the coolant; not the typical dirty coolant. The first thing you should do is a leak-down and/or coolant pressure test, to find out if you are leaking oil between the coolant and oil passages somewhere.

And, I would definitely not drive it until you do a little more investigating.

Mine looked like that when my head gasket blew.

If you do a lot of cold starts and drive it short distances a lot i found the condisation residue on my oil cap had the same residue not sure if it was a issue like that. but it does look like oil/coolant milkshake ;-(

I had the same exact thing happen when my head gasket blew, I didn't notice it soon enough and the coolant started getting into the engine too. I had to replace the gasket flush the radiator and run oil cleaner through the engine till it all came out :/

100% water in the oil= head gasket issue. Also a boost leak won't lead to fuel cut, it's the opposite.you hit fuel cut when over boosting. So those problems are unrelated.your probably suffering from air in the cylinder head instead of the cylinders, which leads to having an issue with pre detonation. This means you will also backfire.it'd you have that gunk in your turbo, this is very bad..

Overheating under throttle=headgasket, in most cases. Since the super hot exhaust gases are blowing through the gasket into the coolant passages. I am definitely thinking headgasket.

Do either the "bulb" test. This is where there is a chemical inside a rubber bulb that reacts with the exhaust gasses and changes color to indicate head gasket failure.

or

Do a compression check.

DO NOT BUY a bunch of cooling system parts without doing one of the above first. You may need that cash to buy and replace the head gasket.

I think what he meant is a block tester. Looks like this UVIEW 560000 Combustion Leak Tester : Amazon.com : Automotive It essentially reacts with exhaust gasses.

Head gasket is mixing oil with the coolant. My GS has been doing this since 2002.

As long as you're mixing oil with water and not the other way around, nothing fatal can *really* go wrong. When you start getting water in the oil pan, your engine is not long for the world. The oil in the cooling system will tend to make hoses spongy over time, but that's about it.

Is your car spitting out coolant out the holder? When you cut the car off to you does it sound like boiling water in the motor? Does your upper and lower radator hose look like its about to blow? You don't wanna take and changes with over heating issues. It will make A LOT of other thing go wrong if you keep driving it. Please get your system pressure tested before you start anywhere else! When my head gasket went I was going through water every two days for about a week. :nono:

100% you need another Headgasket and possibly check head for straightness. My guess is that the previous owner blew the headgasket due to a pre existing problem, the HG got repaired and the problem once again blew the gasket for you.

So either something in your setup is causing the engine to overheat causing head warpage resulting in a leaking HG or the head was already warped to begin with.

Had the same issue it turned out to be the oil filter housing seal went and i was pushing oil thru in to the coolant lines that cooled the oil filter housing
