Hey I replaced my oil pan gasket today as it was leaking and at the bottom of my oil pan I realized that there was some mysterious small pieces of stuff at the bottom, I used a magnet but it wouldn’t stick to it and it was hard pieces of something not sure what but just posting to see what you guys think, something I should worry about or normal?

edit: also my oil pan bolts were all the same height i know that there is supposed to be two shorter ones that go on the timing belt side but I didn’t have any shorter ones 🤷🏻, my belt isn’t chewed up though. i don’t know if it’s only for 6 bolts or something, i have a 7 bolt

If you don't have shorter ones, make them if you can't buy. Just cut off the ends, it's better than risking a belt.
And the universal recommendation is to use grey rtv for the pan, no gasket. They don't come from the factory with one, it is not a useful addition unless you find a perfect one that never leaks and you frequently need to drop your pan for some reason.
