Do any of you guys have the blank that comes with the owners manual to keep in your wallet? It's molded in a burgandy color, mine was never cut.

That's pretty cool! Think you could grab a pic?

I used to have that big old leather owners manual case with the origanel window sticker, till some asswipe decided to break my passenger window and steal it out of my glove box. :thumbdown

Here's some the whole kit. I had a 3rd key without the rubber on it, but I hid it too well, for when I had a room mate. The keys just have a leather grain, no logos or writing. Did anybody else get the same color manual, or was it actually matched to the cars color?

Thanks, I really appreciate it! :thumb:

The owners manual is the only part that I have, but it looks identical other than saying 91.

Hah, first time I'd seen that hideaway key. Nice they left it blank for you, that'll be helpful. Eh, whaddaya expect out of $600 of dealer prep charges.

AAA does those for members, too. The time I had to pay a locksmith to get me into my Supra, he said he loved them. After a couple years in a wallet, they come apart like they were made of sugar and he made about $150 apiece cleaning out the tumblers :thumb:

Now, for someone who has the valet key, show us a good closeup of how they're cut differently.

You can usuall find the owner's manual and case on eBay. I have them for about four years.

My manual case was black leather.

Hey guys. I have the same black blank faced key as well.

Does anyone know if the oem ignition key is used to lock the glove compartment? I forgot to ask the previous owner if he had a seperate key for that or if the original one was used. I can stick the key into the glove key hole but it won't turn. The key is pretty worn so that could be the reason why it won't turn. Thanks guys!

As long as the key looked cool I would be interested.

Question tho, how does one go about getting the key made of such a hard metal cut? The cutter wheels in key machines are not tool steel and are not very hard nore do they need to be due to the fact that normal keys are nickle plated brass.

I'd take a couple, so long as they can be cut, without going and doing it manually, with files. :p Also, seventy bucks (plus ten more for shipping) is ludicrous. But SS would be cheaper than the titanium key they're offering.

It'd also be kinda cool to have one with the head shaped into the Mitsu triple-diamond. :thumb:

If the titanium keys they're selling can be cut stainless steel shouldn't be a problem. My version would have a final price of $15 ~ $20 shipped. ETA would be 2-3 months. I actually thought about the Mitsu triple-diamond design but that would leave out the Talon and Laser guys. If this batch goes well I might do other more "conservative" designs for owners like Defiant :)

But I need a new key for my pumpkin carriage! Even if it isn't very pumpkin-like.

That'd actually be a good photochop challenge... the Good Fairy's DSM. :D

In any case, let me know when you have actual sample pictures. My original key is starting to bend/twist in the lock. And doubly so if you get 'em with the Mitsu logo head. Maybe have the key coming off one of the points, and the other two joined by an arc so it could be put on a key ring. Even if it'd vaguely resemble an '80s guitar at that point.
