i just got a ebay 50 trim turbo for a friend of mine who is on a budget. it has the same compressor wheel specs as a pte 5031.and the exhaust wheel has the same size inducer and exducer as the 5031 but the exhaust blades are about 10mm taller.can someone tell me what will the taller turbine blades will effect?

I think he saying that when you look into the housing that the blades are coming out farther.

hopefully this pic helps out what i am looking at.i took the measurements and the t31 garrett wheel is 24mm long and the ebay wheel is 29mm tall.

When rally teams were restricted to the inducer and exducer of their compressor wheels, they increased the heigth of the wheel to increase its surface area. I can only assume that the same would be for the turbine side but related to its flow capabilities and spool characteristics.

WTF

You're measuring the width. You need to get your length x width x height straight in your head, man. :p

There's only a 5mm difference, and that's not much to matter on the width of the wheel. If the specs are nearly the same otherwise, it's probably the one spec that the Chinese decided to change in order to get under copyright laws.

BW / Schwitzer makes a version of Garrett's P-Trim turbine that is interchangeable in every way, shape, and form with an actual Garrett part, except it is slightly wider. It will fit into a Garrett housing because the wider portion is at the exducer of the wheel only.

the bad thing is i am trying to use a bep bolt up housing.the bep housing is for a t31 wheel and it dosent work with the ebay wheel.i guess i will have to have it machined.
