Ok heres the story. i pulled out my 420a motor off of my 98 gs eclipse with tranny and all. i was able to take out the transmission but the problem is that the torque converter is still on the motor. i realized that inorder to remove the converter i needed to rotate my crankshaft a bit at a time to remove each bolt facing the motor connected to the torque converter. the problem is that my crankshaft wont turn over. i know that motor is not blown and it always had oil and it ran about 3 months ago. is it the motors built pressure thats not allowing me to turn the motor over? if i remove the spark plugs will it releive the pressure inside the motor? and which way can i rotate the crankshaft wheel without ruining the setting on the motor is it to the right or to the left. any answers will be appreciated i will continue the discussion on this because i dont think it will be easy to transfer this motor to my other eclipse

yea remove your spark plugs, this will prevent your motor from compressing the air by letting it escape, thus allowing you to turn the crankshaft without having to compress 180psi in 4 cylinders. Should work great

thanks ppl kept telling me that the motor was seized
i didnt beleive it ran great before i took it out it only has 80,000 on it which way do i turn my crank to turn the motor?
