what i have now:

injen intake
3" catback
3" dp (uninstalled)
obx fmic (uninstalled)
j-pipe (uninstalled)
greddy uicp (uninstalled)
boost/oil pressure gauges
boost controller (uninstalled)

plan to get:
greddy flanged bov (what kind are there...well...besides greddy?)
650cc injectors
safcII
walbro 255 lph
mhi big16g (going to port out the wastegate, might as well do the manifold at the same time)
ported oem o2 housing...maybe aftermarket tubular?
fuelab fpr w/ return line kit

i'm going to have everything on the "to get" list within a month...the safcII probably later on today if everything works out.

so, i can't think of anything else. i'm trying to hit at least 250awhp on the "race" tune, maybe even more. then however much 10 or 12 psi will net me on my "street" tune. i'll be pushing 18-20 psi on the "race" tune.

i was thinking maybe an fpr w/ gauge, and probably porting out the stock manifold. maybe an air/fuel ratio gauge. i know i should get a wideband, but the basic air/fuel ratio gauge will at least tell me if i'm running too rich/lean, right?

oh, also, can i run the stock coolant/oil lines off my t25 to the 16g? if not, where can i get these? i'm already ordering new block to manifold, manifold to turbo, and turbo to o2 housing gaskets. should i get new hardware just in case?

If you do don't by a afc without getting a logger. This is the route most DSMers do and end up blowing crap up and selling the car. Dsm are rare and need to be babied that's why the 1st mod I did to my talon was DSMlink. Your gonna be tuning by timing, but I wish you luck even though the car my feel fast bad stuff maybe going on inside. And if you don't by a logger and tune by ear except things to brake. Seems you have made up you mind though and I hope it works for ya.:thumb:

This is why I asked ya how much are you looking to spend ect?

A rewired Evo fuel pump is pretty cheep and will push ya deep if you wanan save money and not get a AFPR.

Rewire kit 15.00
Evo FP 40-60 bucks

Evil ran 10s on a rewired 190 so don't be to scared. I run a evo fp rewired it flows almost as much as a 255 just about 30lph short.

Regardless of what who ran, te 190lh fuel pump rewired is good for about 400whp. Can you or the OP run 10s with that horsepower?

650, safc, AFPR, and a walbro 255 is just fine for your goal.

i'll be buying a logger and i'll tune the safc to a safe limit. i'll make sure of that by getting it done at fftec.

just as estimate, anybody know of the *safe* limits to push the 650's with an safcII?

i'm leaning towards 650's and safcII...just because that option is so much cheaper and suit my current goals. though i know the safcII won't be able to control the 650's at higher DC's, will i be able to hit 300 awhp around 20-22 psi with that fuel management setup?

of course, after this "project" is done, i'm going to start saving for dsmlink and start to push more after i do my 100k service (timing belt, water pump, balance shaft removal, etc)

edit: of course i'll be logging, too

Yes, you should be able to hit that goal with the SAFC, it will just be a little harder to do as you don't have timing control & your fuel adjustments directly effect your timing with a piggyback controller, such as the SAFC.

If you already have a laptop, the cost of DSMLink isn't so bad as both control & logging are part of the package. With an SAFC you also need to buy a logger package & a palm if you don't already have one. In my case I had the laptop, so I spent the extra on the link & even for the extra cost, I would recommend it 100%. I'm not sure about the MAC operation but you can use a USB to serial adapter on newer laptops that don't have a serial port.

Without DSMLink, yes those 650's should meet your goals. One of my buddies made just over 300 whp with his evoIII, right around (just slightly less) 20 psi. He was running 550 injectors but when he bumped the boost up to 21-22psi at the track, he was almost at 100% IDC.

Just make sure your 100% sure your goals aren't going to change in the future. Its better to save abit longer now & get parts that will allow you to grow vs your goals changing & having to buy replacement parts for things you've already upgraded. When I had my evoIII I went with DSMLink & 750's thinking this would allow tonns of room to grow with at that time current goal of around 300whp (or enough to beat my old mans 95 vette ;) ) Well I hit that goal, ran those injectors for 3 years & then last year was running over the 80% IDC thats normally recommended. Now I've gone to 1050's, hopefully they'll last longer ;)

after looking at how much money i'll be taking in from my job, i've decided to suck it up and go for the dsmlink. i'll pick up some rinky-dinky laptop off ebay. my biggest issue is picking up a 95 eprom ecu. oh well, one step at a time.

i'm getting 850's from advanced fuel injection, guy is awesome, really helpful and has put up with all my questions. i'd recommend them.

i had a quirky question.

will i get any knock with the stock cams? i'm trying to decide if i want to do cams or not. thanks.

No, but it is a huge waste of money to go for 850s without cams. Going to bigger cams is the only reason you'll need bigger injection to supplement the increase airflow. Switch cams will get you 30-50 hp right there.

What's the difference in cost between 850s vs. 650s?

You'll never need an injector upgrade again if you buy what dsmlink can handle now. Buying injectors twice is a waste of money.

Stock cams means that you'll have to run more boost to achieve your goal. More boost means hotter aircharge which is more prone to detonate.
