Tach not working after setting timing

Hey Tuners,

I looked for an answer in all the related threads and couldnt find anything similar.

I am really hoping this is just something stupid I am missing, but I have a 95 TSI awd with a 6bolt swap and DSMLink v2.5.

Everything was working fine except it blew smoke, come to find the valve seals were bad. I replaced them with the head still on and after reinstalling everything it threw a p0300 (random misfire detected) I went through the usual suspects and everything was fine, so I purchased a timing light and retimed the CAS. That seemed to fix the issue, but now my tachometer has stopped working. I thought maybe it was because I didnt uncheck the ground ignition timing box in DSMLink, but I unchecked that and the tach is still sitting at 0 with Link reading 750-800.

Is this some kind of coincidence, or did I screw something up. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe the tach isn't getting enough power. I'm no pro, but a light can eat up what little voltage is allocated to a certain task pretty easily.

Did you do anything to/with the power transistor when you were working on it, even by accident? A bad PT could cause problems like this.
