t28 ported or non-ported

Quick and easy question. I burnt up the stock t25 in my car, and decided to go with a FP Big T-28, now I just need to know the difference b/t ported and non-ported, and which one directly bolts on in place of the factory turbo?

A t-28 is a direct bolt on for a 2g and yes ported will make a big difference with boost creep and such if your running more psi if your running stock boost tho you wont see a difference and keep in mind you cant just bolt on this turbo and expect to turn the boost up to 25 psi and expect the car to run good youll need some supporting mods before you turn it up to make sure you keep your motor safe..

Minimum mods i would do would be 550 injectors a 190 fuel pump and an safc cheap and affective and would give you ALOT more power than you have now.

Porting the wastegate flapper won't get you more power but porting the housing will alow more air to flow which will help with spool time

I think you have that switched up. Creep is more like to happen on a lower boost setting than a higher one. The wastegate has to divert more exhaust gasses to maintain a lower boost setting compared to a higher one. There's a certain point where the wastegate has a minimal job in keeping boost levels. Generally speaking its right around the area that the turbo would creep to on a lower setting.

Boost creep isn't a problem with a FP T-28. I ran my 28 with a stock down pipe and it with a 3 turbo back with no catalytic converter, neither setup had any signs of creep. Held solid @ 18psi (couldn't go any higher as my BOV would start to leak)
