ported 2g mani or ported 1g?

Is there a differnt if i port my 1g mani or buy a 2g mani and get it ported? i heard the only difference is that the 2g mani has a higher nickle content therefore its not going to crack as easy? is there any other advantages or disadvantages to either?
 
just get a 2g ported, if you also check the pricing on those you can find a 1g for anywhere like 10+ bucks got mines for 5 cause I needed one fast and 2gs go for 100+ depending on how sweet a deal you can find so theres a reason for that. 2gs don't crack and can last a lot longer. it's money well worth it to me. but besides the cracking iss there just about the same.
 
If you have the ability/inclination to port, I say port the stocker. It's really no cost but time. If it cracks, buy a 2G.

I think either will flow fine considering your lacks of mods and should support more comfortably.
 
2g manifolds will crack, the one i bought from some guy for $50 had a crack on the top of the collector area. but someone owed my uncle a favor and he got it welded up real nice. i also proted it out.

No, larger exhaust manifold runners lead to slower spool and higher power at higher revs. Neither is very noticeable between the manifolds discussed and only a minimal increase has been noted with a "performance" exhaust mani unless rediculous horsepower numbers are being run. Get a 2G mani for the fact that it is less crack prone. or don't bother with the upgrade and get a "$5" 1G.
 
I believe the 2G exh manif is cast steel and the 1G is cast iron. Either way the 2G is a much better alloy and will last MUCH longer w/o cracking- and also look much nicer.
