I just bought a 95 Talon TSi AWD a few days ago and runs great no smoke or anything, but when I was cking shaft play there was 0 side to side and around 1/8-1/4" in and out. I thought in and out was the death of the turbo, but usually they burn oil and smoke at WOT. There is also no groves in the inlet of the the turbo. I'm a little confused on this by the shaft play the turbo is done, but there are no other signs of turbo failure. I cked the shaft play after the car sat over night I don't think this should make an difference.

from what I could see there was no blades nicked. I'm kinda worried about it because my buddy shelled out his 14b in the spring and I just don't have the funds to swap out the turbo right now with the holidays and all

Sounds like your in a pickle. Id say just drive it easy until you can save up some funds for an upgrade. On a positive note atleast now you have a good reason for an upgrade.:) Hope everything turns out well. Later

I'm would like to see if it'll hold out until I get all the supporting mods so I can bolt up my T3/T04E I have sitting in the shed, but I look yesterday in the classifieds any it look like all of them had shaft play too :(

*edit* I need to stop trying to look you things ad 300 AM I found two for around 170
