Shaft play

today my CEL came on and and threw the code for Wast-gate Actuator, not only that, I was boosting at exact'y 13 psi with BCS and restrictor removed but then out of now where I got a CEL and then my car only boosted at 8-9 psi and slowly dropped to 5-4 psi and the car does pool as hard as it did b4 this happened.

I don't have the time yet to check the waste-gate but i have not drove the car due to this condition even though the car drives normal no bogging or back firing or weird turbo sounds or clicking sounds but what i did have time for was to remove my intake check for boost leaks on the hoses from Boost source and WAste-gate then i decided to check the turbo itself by checking for shaft play, by getting a hold on the compressor wheel a can pull it out enough to notice it more just like 1/8 of an inch i can hear it tap a little if i do it quick and hard enough buts its not moving like crazy just a little bit and its only moving in and out not side to side and such just back and forth.

simple question is, is this shaft play and is it causing my CEL and boost drop or is my Wastegate not holding pressure

the code is for the solinoid is it on the stock solinoid check the vacum lines to it and make sure its plugged in. . . what turbo do u have?

T25 turbo

wastegate solinoid?....as in the Stock boost controller?

yea it usually only comes on when its unplugged mine is plugged in but not in use and i dnt get a code

but not sure y your boost is changing psi

this might sound stupid but here it goes...

theres another wire that is exactly the same as the BCS plug, that is the plug that connects to the coolant tank behind the headlight. my question is...

witch one is the one that connects to the BCS since i unplugged them both one time after attempting to install MBC maybe i plugged them back both in the wrong plug?....

theres the plug thats very down low and the plug that reaches all the way up?

not positive but try and switch them around. . . y cldnt u ut in the mbc? also 13psi sounds good for the bcs with restrictor removed 8-9psi is what the wastegate alone does but 4-5psi doesnt . . . i noticed that we both live in oxnard cali try to switch it arond and ill give u a hand with the mbc if u want

i have the bleeder style boost controller, the ebay cheap one with the T that has an arrow pointing towards the Wastegate actuator, but as soon as i installed it the car kept over boosting till fuel cut at 17-18 psi and would not hold boost what so ever....

i seen you around actually, i work at HAAS automation and i get off at work at 430 and usually see you on rice ave

yea i work at in-n-out in cam and i usually go down rice but that boost controller is garbage get one from roadrace its a dejon 50bucks i have one works great doesnt leak at all
