Lasalle,
I've got the NT water neck to install my V-trim but I notice that the waterneck I have right now also has a fitting for it to connect to another coolent line closer to the Water pump end and it looks to go down to the filter houseing. My NT one doesn't have this. Did I get one from the wrong year?

Let me know! Thanks!

I think I have one from a 90. The one I think I need is from a 91+.
I'm guessing since the 90s had oil coolers and 91+ don't they just ran coolent to the filter houseing and I'll need a pipe with a connection to the filter houseing right?

Yup my 91 has water running through the oil filter housing. It gets its feed from the thermostat area, like the turbo, and I guess it drains back into the pipe as you say (the stock turbo drains back to that too, which you might know already). If your filter housing has coolant passages, you can hook these up, if not then you can plug them.

Edit: Just noticed you're MISSING the return fitting for the filter housing. I don't know if any nt's had this, somebody else needs to clarify that. But since your filter housing is set up for coolant, it would probably be a good idea to keep running coolant through it.

I'm not missing the connection at the filter houseing, I'm missing the connection on the NT water neck. Looks like I'll need to find a 91+ one or just block off the water lines.

Anyone know the thread pattern for the coolent line that comes from the water neck so I can buy a bolt for it.

Thanks!

I know the one for the turbo water return is M16x1.5. I plugged it with a 3/8" npt brass plug, that *kinda* worked. It's not a perfect match, but it doesn't leak with some teflon.

You'll have to check if the line you're talking about has the same fitting as the line for the turbo, but I would think they're similar.

I'd rather hook up the coolant to the oil filter housing, though.

Why can't you use the 91 turbo water pipe? My t04b with bullseye turbine housing and 2g manifold leaves almost an inch of clearance.

I CAN use a 91 NT.... I have a 90 NT. I think I need the 91 becasue it has the coolent lines for the oil filter houseing and my 90 NT waterneck doesn't. It's not a clearance issue, I want to eliminate the waterline that comes from the neck to the turbo is why I want it.

So you only want the nt so that you get rid of the water return? Why don't you just plug it on your turbo water pipe? I plugged mine with a 3/8" npt plug from home depot wrapped with teflon, and it's holding fine.

Yeh that's probably what I'll end up doing, but I wanted to do it nice and not ghetto LOL.

Serves you right :p

It is kinda ghetto cause the 3/8 npt is not the right thread. It just threads in far enough to seal. I think the real thread is M16x1.5. If you can find a bolt like that and cut it short, that would be good. You can also try to use the plug you took out of the oil filter housing, I think it's also 3/8" npt, cause it doesn't quite mesh with the water line fitting, but it might work well enough.
