good news is that the compressor fits just perfectly, i was so happy, and get the SBR manifold guys, it pushes it out slightly so it clears the water pipes even better and if you have a 3" inlet, it also lets it clear the radiator hose, not to mention its a sweeet piece, and it is even tapped for egt with a plug, so if i ever wanted egt, it would just bolt right in

The gaskets from bullseye are very nice, much nicer then the metal ones most people offer and the craftsmanship on the wastegate setup is very impressive.

I will be tuning it tonight as much as i can on my current 550cc's with pump, im just hoping nothing leaks.

Clutch goes in next week, i am getting the southbend clutch, i've heard good things about it, along with 750s and 22psi on race gas dynoes for you guys :thumb:

I know I have a different compressor and everything, but I believe the turbine housing is the same.
Did anyone have a bi*** of a time getting the oil return to clear the front motor mount?

I didn't get my return kit from Dave, but seeing as how mine uses flexible cheap hose and i still had a bi*** of a time getting it to clear the motor mount, I dont see how a thick steel braid would clear either.

Our oil return has a 45 degree fitting for that reason, to clear the motor mount. I understand this is only a problem on 1g's.

If my butchered one ever craps out, I'll be upgrading to yours.

You have no idea what I had to do to the motor mount get it to fit cleanly.

I had to grind my motor mount bracket a little but and I am using the 45* return kit. It's just a matter of grinding off the lip on the bracket, the rest is smooth sailing.

Yeah, I removed all traces of the lip on the motor mount.

Hey, here is a link to a page I started that will detail my water line.

http://members.cox.net/dietrichs8/water_line/index1.htm

In one shot you can clearly see that there is an inch of clearance to the water pipe.

The manifold is a 2G, I have not mounted the SBR cast mani yet. I measured it, though.
It is .1 inch longer, and all the ports are .1 inch bigger. The outlet, however, is absolutely HUGE. It matches the turbine housing perfectly at 2.5 inches. The ported 2g I have is only 2.1 inches.

I also will have general install pics as I get parts in.

Excuse the mess! Work in progress.

1993eclipseGS : "Internal gate would be cheaper"

I thought the internal was more expensive?

What is better about internal/external wastegate besides the cost?

I think he meant that in the long run, internal would be cheaper. The turbo itself would cost more up front with an internal gate, but without an internal gate you'd then have to purchase an external gate, dump tube, etc.

The advantage of an external is the ability to route more exhaust through the gate-- externals are usually larger than internals, therefore you can run lower boost on an external gate. If you're always gonna run 20PSI or whatever, though, an internal should be fine, especially the 38mm Bullseye ones.

Internal gates aren't cheap to install and mount and the gate itself is expensive.

But they allow more accurate boost control through sheer size.

But from what I've read in this thread, Dave's internal actuator and design has allowed for good boost control

I have had the internal wastgate on my HX35 for over a year now and I have ran as little as 11 psi and as high as 30 psi and most of the time I did not even have a boost controller on the car I was just using the adjustable arm on the wastegate.

The boost controller does quicken the transition into boost.

I am in the middle of my install Day 6 (dont ask!!), and I have a couple questions.

1. What did you use for your rear water line. I cant make it out fully (copper?).
2. Will a stock banjo bolt work?
3. What did you do with the water line to your filter housing? It hits my compressor housing and not sure what to do with it?

This has been a huge mess for me, and I'm hating life right now.

finally got it done tonight

Unfortunately, no install pics, but i wiill have finished product pictures

So far i am only at 11psi before i get my bigger injectors, and i still have to install the dsmlink

First impression compared to the s16g is great. Its MUCH smoother, more linear power, 1st gear isnt as hard to control, but the power, from 4000 to redline is awesome

Top end is much better then the 16g, at 11psi , it feels like the 16g at 18psi

This turbo along with my JR FMIC and piping is working great, fits great, and just looks very professional, the engine bay looks very nice now

The turbo is perfect sized for me, not too huge, not too small

I turned it up to 15psi just once(boost controller) and it was just waking up, it was even faster, i cant imagine 22psi

The SBR manifold is awesome, fits the turbo just right, so does the evo3 o2 housing, mine is ported and fit just right

The turbo so far is very impressive to me, i will keep you guys updated as i raise the boost.

BTW, i need my clutch installed badly :D :thumb:

Glad to hear that it all came together for you. :thumb:

Gald to hear everything is working out man!

I just went ahead and ordered the T10B from Bullseye! Shopping time for injectors and a controller next. Anyone want to PM me with suggestions for a 97 GST Spyder application I would appreciate it.

Randy

We are starting to fill all open orders tomorrow and Monday. Hey Randy, I did just receive your order from our website. Did you mean a T04B?

Just getting finished installing the turbo.

Kind of a pain in the ass.

Make sure that if you are doing this you absolutely buy the necessery bolts, such as the manifold to turbo bolts, and o2 housing bolts.

I've had a few problems, the elbow I purchased would't fit around my dejon lower i/c pipe, needed to dremel the hell out of it and I'm pretty sure it'll blow off if I boost. After mangling the hell out of the inlet I finally got it on.

The main issue i'm having now is the oil drain line bolts that came off my T25 WILL NOT fit the oil drain on the new one. Could you tell me what size bolts I need? Has anyone else has this issue?

They should have come with the kit, but if not you can use a 3/8" x 16 - 1" long.

Scratch that, they did come with the kit, It was just in a package that looked like protective packaging.

Thanks a lot.

Since i have hella time before i even worry about installing my T04B should i just wait and buy an evoIII manifold and O2 housing, or just slap it on the stock stuff until my money gets right. Im debating, because im very impatient and just want it on, or will it be worth it to wait?
