Hey everyone.

I have a manual 93 laser rs, with a bad ecu.

went to the local 'u-pull-it' in search of a new one, but couldnt find exactly what i needed..

I got a turbo awd ecu out of a manual talon; figured it will come in handy eventually since i will be swapping components later.

so obviously, its not the right ecu. Im wondering if the turbo awd ecu will work with my fwd n/a.

Im not concerned with fuel management, or other side affects of running my car with the wrong ecu.

gotta go will repost later

i may start the car with that ecu ,but it will probably buck and be hard to drive. i sent you a pm with an offer that you may like.

These two statements are contradictory. If you're not concerned with fuel management, or other side affects of running my car with the wrong ecu then you don't really care if it will work.

The Turbo ECU expects that you have 450cc injectors and isn't going to come close to providing enough fuel with the NA injectors. Using it to do anything other than seeing if your car will start to make sure you don't have other problems is going to put the engine at risk if you try driving with it.

This is about the worst idea I've ever heard, that is like trying to put a computer together with all the wrong stuff. I can promise you that you will have problems and more than likely the car probably won't even run.

ok.

Its not exactly my favorite idea either. Not planning on running it like that for long, at all if i can help it. (if corey can help it) And thats a poor analogy if you saw my computor you would understand.:thumb:

I wrote this too hastily; I obviously care if its going to do serious damage to my motor or other components. I don't mind guzzling a little bit of gas or if it will

Steve this is exactly why I got this particular ecu in the first place, and also to have for barter or sale. but was just wondering if it would be reasonably functional to run like this for a week or so.

Corey and I are discussing an ecu swap, so if that works out then this post did some good. either way learned a lil bit. Thanks for the input guys! :rocks:
