Auto AWD ECU in Manual FWD

I did some research and from what I’ve read it looks like I am able to use an auto ecu on a manual but just wanted to confirm before I go ahead and purchase. It’s been socketed and dsmlink v3 chip installed but is coming from an 97 awd auto 2g, can this be used in my manual 2g fwd?

ECMTuning used to offer EPROM conversion of many non-EPROM 2G ECUs but most 2G EPROM ECUs will be from 1995 model year cars. So knowing what year ECU is more important that the auto vs manual and FWD vs AWD, especially once it's running DSMLink software.

Mine is one year behind so a 96 and his is a 97.

So your car shares the configuration with a 95 and in 97 they moved the cam angle sensor to the rear of the intake cam. This creates issues you'll have to deal with if his ECU is a converted 97 instead of a 95 EPROM.

Good thing I asked since I didn’t read anything about the cam angle sensor. Looks like it’s a 97 converted though, but here’s two photos of it
