t-25 boosting 25 psi

heres a lil story, i had a gsx that i wrecked, parted everything out, kept turbo ### i had rebuild it 3 months prior to accident, it was a head on coalitionso turbo got a bent wastegate. So now with my GST i did awd and 5 speed swap on car. two months ago my head took a dump and messed my turbo. Then I rebuild the head off GSX(wrecked) with all new parts, installed the head on GST and also swapped turbos. So now ever since i got it running, turbo spools too fast all the way too 25 psi on gauge, with fuel cut i believe at high rpm. i changed the wastegate because it was bent remember i mentioned it. but still boosting at 25 psi. So my question is, did the housing might of broken in the inside? Could I just swap housing to solve my problem? t-25 btw
 
Ok what about the vac line where is it hooked up to? What about the new actuator Is it adjustable? Just because it was moving free when you changed the actuator doesn't mean it is now. Double check just to verify again! Then leave the actuator arm off and go for a spin see what boost you hit.
 
everything is stock so vac line goes to stock place. Removed actuator arm but still same... its kinda stressful to run out of options to fix a problem...
 
Sounds like the actuator is bad. Do a boost leak test with the vacuum line attached directly to the actuator. If the rod does not move at around 10psi (or at all) then it's bad.
 
what are the possibilities of two wastegates to be bad, i replaced the actuator from previos turbo thinking that would be the problem, second actuator and problem is all same...

There's only a few of things it can be...the flapper is stuck closed, boost controller (or stock bcs, if you still have it), something is wrong with the vacuum line, or the actuator is bad.

Have you tried running the line from the turbo directly to the wastegate and tried boosting?

wastegate is connected to factory bcs, pretty much stock. BCS might be bad?

Not sure, I've never seen one go bad before. I know electronic boost control solenoids, like the ingersol rand, will open when they fail, which would give you wastegate pressure at the very least.

You need to rule out the bcs by bypassing it and running the vacuum line straight to the actuator. This should give you wastegate pressure (10psi). If it still spikes, then it's the actuator or vacuum line itself, since you said the flapper opens and closes freely.
 
Just remove all the junk and put the vac line from the compressor cover to the wastegate actuator. Stock psi should be around 10-11 without BCS

this gonna be my next move, hopefully fixes problem. I'll see what it does in a bit... With BCS, should I tap the vac line from there?
 
I agree, try vac line from compressor to wastgate and and See what boost does. If it's still over boosting the flapper has to be stuck shut somehow! Also if you removed the acuator arm and did a test run and still hit 25psi boost, than your exhaust could be clogged/blocked somehow. With the acuator arm off you shouldn't be building any boost or very little, since there is nothing to control the wastgate flapper it simply blows open when exhaust goes thru it. If it's not that than something is creating crazy back pressure and causing the over boost issue, what else could there be but something in the exhaust or o2 housing, a clogged cat converter maybe! Try and ziptie the wastgate flapper arm open and test drive if you still boost to 25psi than the exhaust being blocked has to be the problem I think? Anyone else got any ideas besides what we already talked about?
 
Just get rid of your bcs all together and cap that vac line. Then run a line from the nipple on the wastegate to the little nipple on the j pipe.

the vac lines on the BCS dont need to be capped. You can even remove the whole unit all together and have no CEL. But this has already been stated ^^^^^;)

Wheres the J-pipe on a T-25? :)
 
This is how the vacuum routing goes from turbo to BCS..There is a Tee fitting from factory coming off the top of tee to compressor housing nipple. Bottom nipple of bcs goes straight to through the horizontal section of the Tee vacuum fitting. wastegate. Top nipple of bcs goes straight to nipple on intake tube.Try this just to test then start inspecting actuator arm failure like everyone is stating, it probably is stuck..25 psiWTF , that poor thing will die very soon like that.

You said you unhooked the actuator from the flapper correct? If so it's not an issue with the lines or the wastegate. It's an issue with the flapper being stuck.
 
I'm agree with Tyeler, the line has nothing to do with the problem which you all ready removed the actuator.

Make your self a favor and check the flapper itself for movement, check if it opens and closes freely, if it does, then tie a wire from it and keep it open, make a spool with the flapper open all the way and see what happens.
 
I've said all this in post 18 guys!! LOL the o.p. said the flapper moved freely when he swapped out actuators. So unless somehow the flapper got welded to the o2 housing and flapper arm broke off, it's not his problem and has to be a clogged converter/exhaust!
