im just wondering what it would take to have a 25 psi DD and a little track time on a bone stock 6/4 combo on a 1g?

that just shows horsepower......and theres always someone who says you need this and don't need that....anyone gimmie a short quick list?

im saying what would it take...on a bone stock 6/4 combo...as in what do i need from the beginning

um I dont understand what your asking, ive run 27pSI with my 16G look at my profile for mods on a stock motor.

25psi in what a 60trim? A T25? A 14B? Your not asking give us any info, and if you didnt know if you have a small turbo running 20psi and a big turbo running 20 psi there is a huge diff in power. Boost does not determain how much hp your going to make, Its how much the turbo can put out.

i want to go out and buy a bone stock 6/4 combo awd car....and put money into the car and want to beable to run 25 psi and beable to drive it everyday of the week

Well, if you run 25 psi daily on stick internals every day, the engine is not going to last long. In order to run 25 psi reliably, you would need some nice forged internals, better headgasket, and some ARP Hardware. I would say on a 6 bolt, 20psi would be the limit for a DD.

So to answer your questions, 25psi on a DD will cost a lot. You'll need a built engine, upgrade the fuel system to at least 650cc injects and an SAFC-II, bigger fuel pump, full exhaust, FMIC, and probably more. I am not saying you can't push 25 psi on the stock bottom end, but if you want your DD to be reliable, you'll want to have a "built" engine.

why 25 psi? like why that number? is there a hp that you are looking for and you believe that 25 psi will get you there? this could quite possibly be the vaguest question i have ever heard...

to run 25 psi daily you need A LOT especially if you decide to do it on a 16g. Completely rebuild your engine, turbo, fuel, probably even tranny... I would say your best bet is look at people's profiles who are running 50 trim turbo's who probably are running around 25 psi and see what their mods are

You can hit 25 psi with everything stock accept a boost controller. I've done it, and I also experienced fuel cut shortly after. But it all depends. 25 psi on a 14b is different than 25 psi on a 60trim turbo. They blow different CFM. You need to tell us more. Do you want a reliable car that can push 25psi all day and still not break down or what?

ps if I were you I would be less worried about the psi and more worried about hp numbers and stuff because running a lot of psi really means nothing. You can run 17 psi on a stock t-25 and flow the same air with only 10 psi out of a 16g turbo. Psi numbers don't say a whole lot

Well, it's not 25psi, but I run 21psi on my daily driver. I ran 25psi for a few weeks but it just seems so freakin brutal :)

Here's some of my mods. Been running 21psi for over 7 months.

# K&N intake
# Mitsu metal head gasket
# ARP head studs
# Web street grind cams
# TRE ported big 16g turbo with a 34mm flapper
# Dejon tools boost controller running at 20psi (25psi with race gas)
# Ported O2 housing
# Evo 3 Manifold
# Supra side mount intercooler with 2 1/2" pipes
# Al Blaha 3" MAF
# Walbro 255 fuel pump
# 3" Intake Pipe
# 3" turbo-back exhaust with Buscher muffler
# 560cc injectors (need bigger, that's next)
# ACT 2600 clutch with street disk
# Apexi S-AFC
# 4 Bolt Rear

The big ones for high boost are fuel, the head studs, the metal HG, and the SAFC.

Good luck

Look at my mods. I run 24-25 psi daily on 92 octane pump gas. I would reccomend getting dsmlink instead of the AEM though. I probably have the bare minimum of mods needed.

I think a better questions is why do you want to run 25psi? Not all turbos are the same as has been said above. A 14b will just push hot air after 18-20psi, so you would be knocking like crazy plus killing your turbo way over due. The smallest turbo you could run that on would be a 16g, but even then you would have have to have more fuel, a way to tune where you could controll the fuel, head gasget since the one on the 1g usually wont like you too much after 20psi. Runing that much psi will require a lot of checking on the car, so i hope you dont think it will be just a slap on job and never have to check anything out untill 3,000 miles are up.
The best thing you can do would be to follow the tech guide on stage 1 build up for a 1g. Its your car you can do what you want, but i dont think anyone one here would want you wasting your money on replacing a motor/tranny just because you wanted to run 25psi on an unknown turbo.

If you tell us what turbo you are going to use then i am positive between everyone online we can figure out what all you will need.

The stock headgasket will handle a hell of a lot more than 20 psi. I ran the stock gasket at 25 psi for over a year with no problems. I even occasionally took it up to 28 psi. Lots of guys have ran 10's on stock headgaskets. If you have a good tune, arp's, and there is no detonation, the gasket will be fine.
