t-25 boosting 25 psi

heres a lil story, i had a gsx that i wrecked, parted everything out, kept turbo ### i had rebuild it 3 months prior to accident, it was a head on coalitionso turbo got a bent wastegate. So now with my GST i did awd and 5 speed swap on car. two months ago my head took a dump and messed my turbo. Then I rebuild the head off GSX(wrecked) with all new parts, installed the head on GST and also swapped turbos. So now ever since i got it running, turbo spools too fast all the way too 25 psi on gauge, with fuel cut i believe at high rpm. i changed the wastegate because it was bent remember i mentioned it. but still boosting at 25 psi. So my question is, did the housing might of broken in the inside? Could I just swap housing to solve my problem? t-25 btw

I think it was lost in your paragraph, because all these other illiterate guys are still posting that he needs to ensure his vacuum lines and BCS are working.

Edit: a clogged exhaust will cause slow spool. He'd need a stuck flapper to cause high boost and quick spool
 
Ya my money's on the flapper being stuck for sure. I think there's more going on than the o.p. is telling us! Was just an idea about the exhaust being clogged, but just don't see what else could effect boost so much if he said the flapper moves freely. I don't know seems like something doesn't add up. And o.p. I wouldn't do to many more test runs and hit 25psi on that t25, that thing will blow before you get anything figured out! So just be carful and keep that in mind.
 
my lines running to the BCS were unhooked, and a little piece of hose was in it's place, connecting the 2 lines together and my turbo was also boosting to 22-25PSI, 27PSI peak. P/O gave me a brand new BCS from the dealership, so I put that in, hooked it up and it went back to 12PSI like it's supposed to be

Uh...he already stated that the flapper moves freely. So tell me how the flapper can be stuck? He didn't say he over boosted with the actuator disconnected, he said he tested the movement of the flapper...

either the actuator is bad, there's a hole in the vac line, or maybe the bcs is dead. A stuck flapper is not the only way to overboost...
 
Compressor cover nipple
To wastegate actuator with a new vac line. Do it and post back,
Bypass the BCS but keep it plugged in.

To all that mentioned to do this, ya'll won. its one of those times were u forget the smallest things to do or check. This turbo that was on my GSX had a MBC and at the compressor nipple it was taped with a small screw. When I swapped turbos totally forgot about it. Did a lil run this morning and sure went back to 12psi, poor t25 was crying everything i would get on the throttle, thank to car gods it didnt go bang! Thanks to yal'll for the help.:thumb:

So the compressor nipple had a screw threaded into it? Weird...must have had an alternate boost source on the other setup, like off of the intercooler pipe or something.

So I guess we can write this one off as a vacuum line issue...

Yes in deed, I swapped the compressor housing, and ended up looping it to wastegate as how urbansmoker1 said.

Yeah compressor to wastegate it's a term for connecting the two lines close to eachother rather than going to the BCS at all. Similar to how people loop their power steering lines. It's not actually looped. But it's referred to that as so. Thanks for the stupid comment.
 
well if they weren't suppose to be like that then idk, solved my problems, works fine... so its all good

Ok this has to be first time the term "looping" has been used on this forum to describe connecting the vac line from the compressor to the wastegate, so quit playing it off like it's a common thing.
 
I dont know why your trying to complicate a term, it's not rocket surgery.

I'm not complicating it, I just didn't know what the hell you were talking about because it's the first time anyone has used it in this context. And, frankly, I'm surprised the OP even knew what you were talking about (or didn't he?)...I literally thought there was some loop action going on ROFL
 
no, I knew it! its easy to say loop and picture what looping is, nipple from compressor to nipple on actuator its easy to put it together.
 
In all other contexts (the coolant or ps lines), there is no reason to actually loop the line, but in this case it's different. It's possible and quite easy to loop the vacuum line, intentionally or not. Also, there would be excesive length when bypassing the bcs so looping would be a quick way to pick up that extra slack. I just think it was a poor choice of words, either way, I really don't give a crap...I just took offense to urban's childish reply.
