My second gear grinds llike a mutha and I'm sure its the Syncro that's gone bad is it best to just replace that Syncro or do more while Tranny is apart. Any suggestions OEM or Jack's
 
I rarely see one that doesn't need the sleeve and hub also. There are OEM kits that incluude the hub/sleeve and synchros as a set.

Somebody tell me where there are performance synchros. I've never seen them.

Really good chance you'll find other stuff wrong once you're in there if this tranny has any amount of miles on it, like 75k or more. Couple bearings possibly, center diff shims and cross shaft are good examples. First rule of thumb for me. Grab the input shaft once the tranny is down. If it moves, you're going to need stuff. This is the INPUT shaft, not the tcase output shaft if you have an AWD.
 
Thanks for the suggestions ill see how far my pockets can take nme also noticed it leaks by the Adelaide sure its the seal might have have caused the issue I'm sure
 
It's a brake ring. .

Or they're also called blocker rings too.

I haven't seen them in CF, would be interested if they where offered.
Only the stand brass rings I have found for these transmissions.
Dont know how a friction lined ring would work with these....
 
The carbon fiber is only used as a friction material in a normal brass blocking ring. I've only seen them for honda's, and some gm and ford applications. From what i've read they do work pretty well.
 
Friction lined were OEM also.
The double coned yes I was thinking for all gears.

The CF rings do work well in them. I do a lot of T-56's & they do respond well to these vs the standard paper lined ring.
That & you can run better fluid without worry of friction problems.
