I ahve done alot of reading on this and narrowed my search down to a set of 92-94 Tsi cams from a m/t with the D,C set appearing the be the better one. I found a set from a 92 Tsi but I do not reconize this set of numbers : I see a 21, J, 3, E, 1 A on the ex. and 21, J, 3, E, 1 H on the intake. What am I looking at????

not sure about the numbers, but I believe you only need to change the intake cam because the exhaust cams are the same for both models. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

as far as I know and from what I have read any 1G dsm will benifit from this swap, but you might wanna ask one of the wiseman or someone with alot more experiance to confirm what I think.

The swap will only work if you put them into a n/t 4g63, not a 1.8. But I'm sure most of you know that

yeppers... we're both 2.0 4G63's or at least i know mine is & i presumed flyinghigh was too.

No you only need to change the exhaust cam. The intake cams are the same for the n/t and the turbo m/t cars. They only made 2 different intake cams and 2 different exhaust cams.

On the exhaust side

the 1.3661 - 1.3585 was the n/t and turbo a/t cam and

the 1.3777 - 1.3974 was the turbo m/t cam.

On the intake side

the 1.3661 - 1.3585 was the turbo a/t cam and

the 1.3777 - 1.3974 was the n/t and turbo m/t cam

And will work for the 90 also Hope this helps.

thanks gsdewd, but did you mean the exhaust n/t & turbo a/t ranged from 1.3661 to 1.3858 instead of 1.3585? (likewise for the turbo a/t intake)

anyone have any estimates on what to expect the cost to be for a set of these cams? or what they paid for theirs??

so what's the significance of the numbers flying high referred to? is there any difference between the 90 & 91 exhaust cams versus the 92-94 exhaust cams??
