Ok so I have a 95 GST with the 6 botl swap and basically my motor gave out on me. I bought another 6 bolt 4g63t to swap in but the motor i bought is out of a 91 GST automatic. Now i know the auto cams are differnt then the manual cams i have in my other head which are still good. How do i go about changing these? I really dont know what to do here so please help me? I have been doing alot of research but I haven't read anything where someone just switched auto cams to manual cams. please help me! thanks

Both auto and manual exhaust cams are the same per my Mitsubishi published factory servuce manual. So just swap the intake cam. . . Either way, there won't be that much difference. Infact the automatic cam will give more down low grunt ofr a better "street" feeling.

For instructions on swapping cams: go to vfaq.com and look up changing your timing belt. Then add removing the valve cover and popping off the intake cam caps. KEEP THEM IN THE ORDER THE ARE IN THE HEAD. Then swap the cams and torque down the cam caps in an even sequence like a head. Up to 15 ft-lbs. Use the old cam seal, if it is not leaking.

Here is RRE's instructions: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/instructions/caminstructions.htm

so should i not even bother changing them? which cam is the intake cam? i mean if its no big deal i dont mind leaving them in, its just the CAS plug in i have is different then the one thats on this new engine head. thanks alot. And im not sure if the cams i have are the more agressive cams out of the 93 or 94.

I don't think it's worth the effort. I've driven a car w/ an autmatic/non-turbo set of cams w/a 5 speed and it felt no different then my stock 5speed cams w/ my 5 speed. . . The cas question has been answered. Look up 6bolt swaps to get you started. . .
