Anyone know about DKS cams? Should I get those or is something else more prefered? I do have a sete of kiggly valve spring's too.

Well I have to do my timing so just figured I get a set of 272 cams. For this winter going evo 3 big 16g, and only will stay with a 2.0 motor, if thats what you mean by how big my engine is. Also for how much hp I want to make is dependant on how much the 16g will give me, as close to 350 I can get. General preference of cams and if there is big difference with regrinds or not is what I am looking for. Cheap but good.

When you call Delta make sure you order their smaller HKS grind 272s, not the K272.

The k272 are based on the kelford cams. It should be fine with op's kiggly springs

Yeah, they'll work but the car won't make hardly any more top end than it would with the HKS grind because of the 16G, while losing a lot of street-ability below 3K rpm.

Yes, but still way too big for a 16G.

Exactly.

Adjustable cam gears are needed for any cam. Differences in deck height, head thickness, gasket crush/thickness, timing belt stretch, etc etc are cause your cams to need to be degreed to get the peak power out of them.

Smaller cams can be run without adj. gears, but you need to get adjustable gears to maximize them.

The lift is exactly the same but a slight increase in duration. We offer a 30 dollar discount for our grind.

When you say "OUR" grind, are you saying that you had Delta make some cams for your company to your own specifications? I'm just trying to clarify, not bash. I'm all for the $30 discount, just curious where it's coming from, vs. the normal $280 price for any of the other "off the shelf" grinds.

Any brand in particular I should get for adjustable cam gears? I prefere the cheap ones, LOL just going to run this setup till my motor blows then it will be build time. Trying to save some money, but get some power.

Be wary of cheap cam gears. Some of the cheaper ones have been known to snap off where the adjusting bolts hold the assembly together. When that happens, you basically jump time and usually lose a few valves.

Yea I know what your saying. I didnt mean cheap cheap but what would recommend for cam gears at a good price? That sounds better.:thumb: I don't know to much about adj cam gears, I have seen some that where bolt on that had these 4 bolts where going to fall out with 1 just left in holding them, so I just want a good pair.

Please remember there is only so much you can do to a regrind with out completely destroying the profile of the cam. Delta gave us an option of pushing the limits of the duration so we tried it.

If you're running a 16g with just basic bolt-ons, look at a 264/264 or 246/272 combo. Sure 272's have become all the rage, but you'll may much happier with a slightly smaller combo.

And as cheap as regrinds are, they hardly loose their resale value if you decide to step up to a 272/272 (or larger) combo later.
