Here's the deal, car has no boost leaks, yet only pulls ~10in vac @idle. Also, the idle ~750rpm is pretty lopey. I'm beginning to think that it has aftermarket cams.
I'l be taking the valve cover off soon to replace it with a nice powdercoated one. Are there any markings that would differentiate stock cams and aftermarket cams?

You may have a vaccum leak but if the idle is choppy indicating a larger profile set of cams, you either have cams or ur outta time. Does the car run good, meaning does it pull to or past redline? I know if you have HKS cams it will say HKS on them, but other than that i dont know of markings. I know comp cams are a bronzish color...if you're unsure just look at the lobes.

I honestly haven't tried a good hard pull since i got the boost leaks fixed, and the t-belt changed/b-shafts eliminated.

Where did you get the car from because if you bought it off someone you would think they would be bragging about those cams like they were the best thing since sliced bread to get some more money for the car. If you got it from a used car dealer or somewhere like that tought they don't care as much so they just say performance car and charge you a crap load anyway. By the way after I put me cams in I would hit the point where my cams were still pullin but my 14b said this is far enough for me. If you can feel your car pullin harder than low boost but not like around 4500rpms up around 7 grand you might have a set of aftermarket cams.

I got it from a used car dealer,. they either didn't care or didn't know. Crap, when I got it home, I was all but ready to swap out the T25 for a 14b, until I looked closer and noticed it had a s16g in it.

Yeah if you drove the car home with a 16g you should have been like dam this t25 must be on like 25psi. A t25 is night and day diffrent than a 16g. The 16g spools slower and will pull alot harder up top. A t25 would reach full boost by like 3k rpm latest. Anyway cool for you bout a car that came with a 16g that would have run you a little bit. You really shoud go threw a few things and check to see exatly what you have done. maybe try and get a hold of the orginal owner his name might be on the title or on some sort of owner record at the dmv.

Ummm how did you not notice it had a 16g in it the second you popped the hood

no idea,. checked for shaft play, didn't really look too closely at the housing

Didn't push it on the way home. Car had some serious boost leaks, which were easy to fix and got some money hacked off the price of the car :) That and I had never driven a car with a t25 on it before,. or a 16g. I put a 20g on my 1g before i drove it 20 feet LOL.

comp cams are a dark gray and have the serial number and part number burned into the shaft near the sprocket side  (just to put it out there)
