Hey guys, I have been reading up on the holset turbos ( most of the 60+ pages) and have decided that the hx35 gives me the power and street ability I am looking for. I will include my mods list at the end and pictures of my set up. Basically I want to swap out the GT40 turbo for the HX35 because of the lag on the GT40. I am not looking for 600whp so the turbo is basically too much for me. So I wanted to know if I would be able to take out the GT40 and just swap the HX35 directly in as far as the oil lines and fitment issues go. (My GT40 has been flanged to fit on a mitsubishi manifold). Also I was thinking of going full E85 instead of the half/half mix of E85 and 93 I run now. Would I see significant gains with the HX35? Thanks for reading the long post and I'm open to any suggestions at all. Thanks again guys. Here is the list of mods and pics.

Hey guys bringing this back from the dead. I got my brand new h1e with the bolt on housing in today and was wondering what oil lines I will need. I ended up going with this turbo because I got a great deal on it. With the bolt on housing, I got it for 550 shipped. Just to keep you guys posted, I also bought some 1600cc injectors to run straight e85 and also all the necessities for a complete blow through set up with a greddy type s. Ok back to topic sorry LOL. But any help on the oil lines would be greatly appreciated thanks.

What are the measurements of your h1e wheels, major and minor diameters? Do you have any pictures?

The h1e/h1c/hx35/hx40 take all the same oil return line flange as a garrett/t-netics. I can't remember the adapter for the feed line.

I don't know when your other turbo was seeing full boost, but the h1e with the bep housing will see 20psi by 4100rpms.

No, the the H1C housing is a lot larger then the BEP housing and the reason it spools faster is because the stock Holset housing is a divided T4 housing and in order to outspool the BEP housing you'll need a twin scroll T4 manifold too.

No he is asking if the h1c fits into the hx35 bolton housing. It does and it does spool a little faster. Because it has a smaller compressor. You will need the big h1c, with the 54mm inducer, for this to be a worthwhile upgrade. The 56mm hx35/wh1c flows about the same as a gt30r. The big h1c flows about as much as a 50-trim or td06 20g.

Man where are people finding these badass Holset deals!? Ebay sucks, the classifieds sucks....

Anyway, if you haven't bought the BOV already, a Tial 50mm might be more worthwhile if you plan on running a decent amount of boost!

Thanks for all the help guys I will post picks tomorrow because I have a a math final tomorrow.

Shoulda got an HX40 in the BEP housing...it is one BAD ass mutha sucka...your gonna wanna upgrade anyways so0o why not just go with the HX40...oh well...its done with

So0o when do you see full boost on that thing?

Yea ended up getting the H1e with the bolt on housing because I got a ridiculous deal on it. The H1e is just an "older" hx40 which flows basically as much as an hx40 maybe 1 or 2 lbs/min. And I should see 20lbs of boost by roughly 4000 rpm. I never found out if it was a gt40 because I haven't pulled it yet. I'm going to pull it off probably next week when I start the new build.

It depends on the h1e. The term 'h1e' is like the term 't04e'. You're ight about spool speed and turbine flow being the same as an hx40. But, as I asked, what are the measurements of your compressor? And how many inducer blades do you have?

Sorry to be a newb but the inducer wheels are the ones seen in the back " inside the bolt on housing" correct? And I want to measure the compressor but I think I have to take off the compressor housing which seems like a daunting task LOL.

The inducer on each wheel is the side that the air or exhaust gas enters each respectable housing and the exducer is the side where the air/exhaust gas exits.
