I often see threads about swapping the non-turbo block and heads into a turbo and how that would work out, but in my and my gal's 90 Talon we have no turbo, and the replacement parts we got from a friend are out of a stock turbo.

So we were going to salvage parts from the non-turbo engine with the head and block (complete with pistons, rods, valves, etc) to cobble a functioning 4g63. Any bumps we might run into that you guys know about? Like besides the compression most likely becoming garbage due to the pistons being different, but anything else?

The car is not going to be hitting the track for a long while, just thought i'd mention that.

Only real differences I recall between turbo and n/t are pistons, piston squirters, cams, tb...theres more, but for hard parts between just the motors that's the majority.

Aside from the horrendous compression from turbo pistons, its all fairly negligible.
