I will be doing a engine swap on my car this weekend. The engine Im using a from a 95 gst and my car is a 98. I’ve read that basically all I have to do is swap over the 95 CAS connector and wire it into the 98 CAS connector in order for the 95 CAS to work that and also swap the firing order. But I’ve also have read that you also have to swap the injector plugs at the ECU or something. I’ve looked on the forums but I can’t get a clear answer. some say you need to others say you don’t. any insight on clearing this up would be much appreciated! (PFA)

If you have both cars and they are complete, the simplest solution is to swap mechanical components rather than messing with any of the electrical. Use the intake camshaft and cam angle sensor + housing from the car you're putting the engine into (the '98), and it's pretty well a 1:1 swap.

I did think about this at one point but the 95 engine already has new timing belt and timing components on it so I don’t really feel like doing that just because I need this car back on the road asap since it’s how I get to and from work at the moment. The engine starts and runs fine so I would rather not have to open it up and take the cams out a possibility somehow mess something up and then it not start. I know it’s a low possibility but I’m just more worried about getting it back on the road at the moment. I do appreciate that suggestion tho! Thanks!
