I've owned my laser awd/turbo for about a month now. I have caught up on maintenence and the first thing i want to do performance wise is get DSMLink going... Well while doing my radio etc... I dug a bit further to see what ECU I actually do have.
The closer I got to the ecu, the more appearant it became that the previous guy may have swapped parts into his project car, from this one.
My ECU is MD159963 , E2T35676 , no EPROM "chip" for socketing. It has 3 plugs to go in, But on the inside, there is 6574M, and JE331B997A.
After checking here, Eclipse Talon Laser Galant 3000GT Stealth ECU ID Reference
I am utterly confused.
My car: 1992 Plymouth Laser RS/t AWD (manufactured January 1992, so it is a 6/4)
My ECU case: MD159963, E2T35676, points to 90-92 3S 3.0L DOHC NA FWD MT and AT (wtf?)
My ECU: 6574M , points to 1G DSM Turbo FWD 90-92 MD166260.
So I don't really care about the case not matching, but i did find it odd, any reason for this?
I suppose the actual board a FWD in a AWD, doesn't really matter as far as proper stock tuning?
Does this mean I can still run DSMLink? I know they do a conversion, would this qualify as a core?
Should I buy/find a 90-92 AWD ECU?
Thanks
