Hi every one so for the last almost year now ive been searching for parts for my supercharger kit and i think got it down to almost done. I have the m90 supercharger along with a manifold that i made and fitted to the car so it bolts up and can be driven off a longer alt. belt. I also have a wally 255lph pump, new fuel rail, afpr, wideband a/f, 60mm tb, and underdrive pully. Now im looking in to getting my new fuel injectors (thinking 220cc) along with megasquirt for tuning. Im not sure if i will need a fuel cut defender or missing link ### i am going to run megasquirt. Im looking for any information on what some other people think would be maybe needed for this kit. I just got put on a last min. deployment so im not at home able to tinker with my car so im just doing some research and brain storming any ideas. Im going to be running 6-8 psi of boost and for now have a fully stock block that i built my self about a year ago with less then 20,000 miles so i know the motor is sound for a little boost not going crazy just yet. I know that superchargers are not a cheap thing to upgrade but 8 psi is all I really want. So any information that you may have would be great and thank you for any reply. I know that this really is not a turbo conversion kinda question but it kinda falls into the spot by definition.

Turbo or supercharger; you are looking at boost pressure so the same rules apply. You'll need the fuel upgrades to support the extra air and keep the engine from running too lean. I'm thinking you'll need to find some bigger injectors than the 220cc's, tho; maybe more like the 450cc from a stock turbo car since you'll be running similar boost pressures. Other than that sounds like you are on your way...

My question is why supercharger? The belt will rob your engine of some power to make the power. On the smaller displacement engines, turbocharging has been the perfered route since you will not get a parasitic draw from the supercharger. And on an engine that has less power to begin with, this is an important factor.

However, it is different and would be interesting to see how well it works out for you!

yes you need a fcd. And 220 aren much bigger than stock.

IIRC I think the stock ones are 240cc.. Ive never seen a car with 220cc before, hell even my Honda CRX had 240cc injectors with all of its 96hp, LOL.

I got a set of 275cc's waiting to be dropped in.

As far as I know the stock injectors are rated at 190 but flow approx 235cc

Stock turbo injectors won't work by just putting them in, the caps are different and they are also the wrong impedance, 420a powered cars use high impedance injectors. If you plan to use these you will need a resistor pack.

This is what the consensus will tell you, and they are fine for 7-8 psi of boost.

I was thinking that 220cc were to small but i know that people have ran them with a turbo 420a and used the stock 190cc injectors at 8 psi. That is one reason why i started this thread their were a few things that i wasn't to sure of and i want to see if im on point for what other people think.

"why supercharger?" I just dont want to be diffrent but want to see how you can push the 420a in a new direction and then after i get the supercharger up and well dyno tuned in going to start looking into adding a turbo but that is many many years away more then likely. I aslo want to add my build to this thread once im done so other people can see how to supercharge and what parts they will need. Its not really cheap but im way under $1000 with out megasquirt so onve i get that ill have about 1,500 into the whole project and see how the 420a takes the supercharger.

People use stock injectors with 12:1 rise rate regulators. Your running a 1:1 reg and with ms you are building a better fuel system. Run some 440 cc injectors with a resistor pack and you will be fine. Also you don't need missing link with ms.

^ This is absolutely correct.

Pictures and video!! i would love to see a fully running 420A supercharged

As soon as i get back to the states ill be going balls deep into this project ive got all the parts just calling my name in a box in the garage. The big thing i am missing tho is msns. Ive done a bit of searching in the last few weeks and thinking I may try something different and see what happens till i get msns installed. Or if the marines pay me like i should get paid ill just get msns. As soon as I have it running Ill put up pics and video so stay tuned.

I would be interested to see 8psi with a 12:1 FPR and stock injectors super charger and stack it up agaist an equal 8psi turbo (without gains from MsN fuel map) to see how the torque values compare. It might be better for autocross not having to worry about spool time but if it robs too much torque it might balance out. Good luck with the build!

Brian Knight? Built a few bolt on supercharger kits, there was 1 or 2 floating around for sale.. May wanna investigate and see whats in the kit fuel wise.. Would be kool to see, but not a new idea...Just not popular LOL
