I just put a new head on my car after it was out for quite some time. (bent valves)
i started it up and it seemed rough for a second or two then rose quickly to 3000rpm and stayed there. the car runs/drives fine despite the super high idle. I am assuming the idle is why my CEL is on. Thank you

I forgot....shit. You need a 1g datalogger. Try finding a person local to you on here who has a datalogger.

I ran a few tests of my own and found that i had a huge vacuum leak where my throttle body meets the intake. i threw on a new gasket, tightened it up and it lowered the idle pretty good. Now all i have to do is tune cam angle timing and the TB adjustment screw. thanks for you time and help:thumb:

i am having somewhat the same problem but i thought it was the EGR valve... i had not fixed it yet.... i yanked the egr valve off and its still good.... do u think the same thing that happend to ## car and is happening to mine... i have a 97 eclipse 420A... and it started doing it right after i had fixed a broken header
