Well today trying to get my tranny out to do a clutch job, i had to take out the subframe. the back two bolts came out with no problem at all but the front drivers side bolt snaped off at the threads (but the other one came out fine). i know i can get by for a while with one bolt gone. but my question is how should i fix this and get the old bolt out so i can get a new one in?

Hey, thanks for the response. Yeah i was just thinkin the only thing i can do is drill it out. theirs nothing really else to try, except trying to use an extractor, but i would imagine its seized pretty good and wouldnt work.

Its worth a shot. Next time, use a WD40 or PB Blaster one all the bolts that you might have to take off. If you dont do that already, get in the habit of it, esp on any car, let it soak for a few minutes and can save you time having to run to the Teufel or a hardware store. BTW, where do you plan on getting a new bolt from??

Don't snap off the extractor in the bolt you'll be sorry if you do. Drilling through a hardened steel extractor is no fun. Just drill it out with progressively larger bits then re-tap the threads.

I actually did use PB Blaster on all my bolts, i may be a noob on this forum but not I'm not a noob working on cars. I'm just going to drill it out in a couple days when i have time. Im going to see if the dealer has a replacement bolt but if they dont im just going have to find something at the hardware store.
