My 2G's throttle has been sticking at random intervals. First I assumed the throttle body, so I cleaned it and I thought it worked, but a few weeks later it happened again. It's scary to find your car accelerating on its own at WOT, and putting it into neutral only makes you bounce repeatedly off the rev limiter. My only choice was to shut the car off and hope I can safely pull over.

I finally found the problem today. Right at the pedal assembly there's a plastic sleeve the throttle cable passes through in the metal tube at the firewall. The plastic sleeve somehow decided it didn't like being in the tube, and was right at the pedal assembly blocking the cable from retracting. Just a heads up for anyone else... just some shitty dsm engineering. I swear I almost died 4 times today in traffic trying to get home. :notgood:

Nice! I had the same issue and I ordered a new throttle cable today. The plastic shroud broke on me and the other half is jammed into the hole in the fire wall. My question is does the ne TC come with that plastic shroud or did I just need to buy that piece of plastic somewhere?

new* TC ...EDIT
