Well like the tittle says i got up this morning and got in my car and stepped on the throttle twice and to me suprise my pedal was stuck to the floor. So i tried to start the car and it the revs just start climbing so u shut the car off to avoid any damage. So i get out of the car and check the throttle cable and its stuck,i tried to lube it with some lubricant and some Wd-40 but no luck,i think its just the cables that are probably ripping little by little or something. Does anybody have any idea what might be going on? Has this happend to anybody? Can anybody lead me to a link on how to remove the throttle cable and replace it? What do they go for if i were to buy one? Somebody please Help!!!

i would just like to clarify something wd-40 is not a lubricant it will not lube anything. wd stands for water displacer. thats why everyone notices quicker bearing wear when they use wd-40 on bearings etc. as for your problem its not a project. just some simple bolt of bolt on stuff. it could be your throttle body stuck to with this cold weather i have fixed a few already. dealers says its due to dirt build up on the flap. but normally they stick close. any ways good luck fixing your simple problem. and i am not going to call the dealer for a price on cable for you. you can do that its your car and will only take minutes to fix

a good use for wd-40 is on a boat when moisture builds up in the distributor all you have to do is spray it all off and waalaaaa the boat will start again.

Let me repeat what i said: I tried to lube it with some lubricant and then some Wd-40 but no luck! I never said Wd-40 was a lubricant. So does anybody know where i can find a link on fixing the throttle cable,i know its the throttle cable because i removed the cable from the throttle body and opened and closed the throttle body by hand and it worked good,no problem but i noticed a small tear on one of the cables its the one that leads to the firewall so somehow that cable was getting stuck. anybody know where i can find this cable and how hard is it to remove from the firewall or pedal? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

what mods do you have, if you are running to rich you can be having really hot egt temps and also very hot intake air temps,,asin so hot the heat from your intake manifold will travel into the metal bracket holding your throttle cable on causeing the plastic inner cover to melt around the cable, i had this issue back when i was new to dsms and scared to run to lean so i was running to rich,,and thats what happens, it did it twice then i figured out i need to lean out my car, never had the problem sence
