So im trying to drop the tranny in my 1g and im stumped. im trying to pull out the speedo cable from the transmission and just cant get it to come out.

i unscrewed the fitting, pulled the bolt out. rotated the axles a bit both in gear and out. tried rotating through the driveshaft.

im just stumped on getting it to pop out. might end up just cutting the cable so i can drop the transmission.

any advice or neat tricks to getting this sucker out would be awesome.

Try grabbing the sensor with vice grips or channel locks and pull straight up. You might damage the threads on the sensor but you could probably pick up a new/used one for cheap on the classifieds. :thumb: The sensor/cable could be rusted or something of that nature that is making it hard to pop out.
