Getting ready to install a front mount and I can't get the J pipe bolts off. Blasted them with PB and no luck. Is there an easier way or a trick to get them off? I'm using a screwdriver with a Allen key adapter.

Depending on access ability you can use a chisel and hammer or air hammer chisel and it should take much to break it loose. Will obviously damage bolt beyond reuse. Similar thing happened to me on an old Audi a/c compressor bolts a week or so ago at the shop. Was able to reach it with air chilse and hit it once and it was loose.

The engineers aren't mechanics are they?

Mine was a PITA and it was the short route kit which is why it was the way it was. Glad now I have a down firing model.

And it is not just DSM's, in fact, sometimes the foreign auto makers have a BETTER design, but that J-Pipe was not well thought out. I still have mine in case I need one of my other DSM's needs one, but that doesn't mean I like it. Go grab your engineer and have them show you how there "NEW" design is suppose to work out, that usually makes them think outside of THEIR box LOL.
