im starting a new thread because all the previous posts are 10 years old...and no answers..i have a 1990 eclipse AWD turbo GSX automatic trans stuck in high gear(limp mode)..is their a fuse i can check? also how do i pull the codes? i seen a post on this using a wire, multimeter but was confusing...please help...

Try using a analog mutimeter or a small speaker

But This should help just connect to ground an pin 6 and if you have any trouble ground out pin 10 as well

Pin 1 an 6 are at the bottom if you looking ate the odb connection

If you have a Palm pilot an logger cable I have a copy of a program if your interested that will read the codes similar to the way MMCD does with ecu codes

You just change the pin 1 from pin to pin 6 just like when using the other method..

ok i hooked up two alligator clips on port 6,12,,other ends to a speaker,,,,turned key to on position and received no audio...do i need a small speaker?..what am i doing wrong....i get no sound at all..Help

ok...im getting no pulse from pin 6 and 12...i look in the manual and it states how to check ecm codes=pin 1 and 12...i do get a signal.... just a continuous short pulse....my question is if the tcm is bad, would it be non-responsive=no signal?

It could very well be a bad tcu. The pulses should be long for the tens digit, and short for the ones digit. If you get nothing but one long pulse on the meter, definitly something going on there....

If there is no signal coming from the port than check the tcu plugs for power and make sure that the the ground wire for the tcu is connected well also, and the ground wires at the plug have good continuity to ground. If power is present where it is supposed to be along with ground and you have continuity in the wire from the tcu to the data port than the tcu is likely bad.
