Hey everyone. i was driving my talon and i shifted up from 1st to 2nd, and once i tried to shift to 3rd i noticed that the knob wont move, not even into nutrual, i can drive in second.. turn off and turn on as long as i push clutch in. this happened once before and the mechanic said he hit the top of my linkage or something like that i didnt understand him, and it popped out of gear. well it happened again. so i have no idea what is going on. the tranny, clutch, master cylinder, and flywheel was all just replaced less then a month ago. any ideas what it could be? please help

Think that could be the only problem? im not to car shabby, i dont want to get screwed by mechanics. it never had a problem like this before. i just dumped 2 grand into it and not trying to have them tell me oh the tranny is bad.. or something like that.

Had this happen to me at the track and i actually broke a shift rail hope the best to you

Make sure its not a linkage issue first then disconnect the linkage and see if you can move the linkage on the trans. You might be better off buying a used trans that comes with a warranty could be cheaper for you but there's really no guarantee that that trans wont die in 100 to 5000 miles. If you get a rebuild from a reputable shop at least you'll have that peace of mind.

Fixed the problem. just hit the top of the linkage with a hammer and it popped out. drives fine, i just cant hulk shift into gear like i been doing. LOL thank you all for your advice though
