Ok ive looked through the forums but couldnt find much that matched exactly. The problem im having is my 1st and 2nd gear are real tough to get into. Either from a stop or moving.

It initially started yesterday when i was driving down the hill to my house i put it in neutral and cruised i came to a stop got my mail and when i went to go again the shifter wouldnt even move over. As in the shifter wont even move over far enough for me to be able to slide it up into 1st or down into 2nd. After messing with it for awhile it finally goes in to first and second. Its been working but it just happened again and i cant get the shifter to move over again.

Really there is nothing else out of the ordinary going on. Everything else is running as usual. I was thinking maybe the 1st and 2nd shift fork but im looking for all possible problems that may cause this. But i dunno.

The tranny is relatively new only a few thousand miles on it maybe 3k or 4k. What can cause this to happen. Any other info needed let me know.

check where your shifter cables go into your transmission. I had the bracket that attaches the shifter cables come very loose and it wouldnt go into certain gears. Try and tighten that down.

aight ill try that as soon as i get home tom. itll be dark and late by the time i get off work. but thanks.

Anyone else have any ideas of where i can check to correct the problem outside of tearing out the tranny.

Ok i looked at the shifter cables from the top and i had a friend move the shifter and i see where its moving but when he tries to move it to the left it moves just a bit. Would it be loose if touched it would another part be loose or what would i be looking for. Im looking at it from under the hood straight down.

Sorry im relatively new to this type of stuff never really messed with the shifter and tranny but trying to learn. Thanks for the help though.

you would know if an intercooler pipe came off. the car would run like garbage if at all.

yea well i checked out the cables and i cant see anything wrong i mean they wiggle a big but they look firmly attached to the tranny there are 2 washers loose on both cables though but they dont seem like they would affect them going into gears i fear its the transmission at this point. The tranny only has like 4000 miles on it so im quite pissed right now.

Ok well i checked everything and took it to a friend and it seems like its the transmission. So sadly i gotta get it replaced or well rebuilt. thanks to everyone that sounded it with advice its appreciated tranny should be back in the car by the end of next week. Im gonna upgrade some stuff in it.

I want a TRE tranny but dont have the time to wait nor the money. If i go with them or shep im going with a higher end and i really dont have 2grand to spend right now.
