No 1st or 2nd gear.

Ok guys having big problems here. i have a fully built 2g, 6bolt was built by ams, GT35R turbo kit from ams, and a stage 2 shep trans. during a launch something blew in the trans. Car wont go into first or second but will go into all the other gears, when it does go into the gears though it still acts as if the trans is in neutral, so it wont engage. there is a horrible rattling noise coning from inside the trans. cant see anything from the inspection hole. Oh i do still have good pressure at the clutch pedal. Anybody have any ideas on what it could be? Ill be pulling it out this week, my first time pulling a trans. but would like to get some opinions before i jump into it.thanks in advance

You probably broke the input shaft and, you probably broke some of the fingers on the pressure plate as well. If you put in a cheap disc (less than 6 rivets is a sign of a cheap one usually) it probably broke as well.

Not going into 1st or 2nd could be a fork issue. The rattling noise is more than likely, the TB due to the input shaft breaking. Since it will not move, that is a definate sign of the clutch broken in 1 or more ways.

That was my thinking actually but, I did have it happen in my neon a long time ago. I could not remember if I had any gears or not. More than likely, it is damaged and will have to be replaced. I had another one pressed in in my neon as it damaged the fingers, TB, and input shaft on it as it was not in good shape at the time and I did not kow any better.

ok so i should drop the trans and see whats going on. i know it has an act 2600 and a 11lb lightened flywheel from act as well. how much would that cost to repair?
